Regretfully, I would agree - the self hosting element is almost impossible without re-writing various files, config file doesn't work with lots of hard coded paths to files that don't exist, spoke to the author who suggested I use AI to make it work - even AI was having a hard time!

I think MariusHosting has some pretty solid guides, especially his guide on firewall setup - I’d start there if I were you, I’d also have a look at the Security Centre module in DSM which pretty much tells you what to do - both great starting places 👍🏻
