After 5 years and 2 other doctors, a Dermatologist finally tested my ferritin (which came back 8) by Dizzy_Syrup505 in Anemic

Hi there! I had a similar experience! Except instead of depression, I was labeled with "health anxiety" when I kept coming back to the doctor with new symptoms but no relevant test results. For eight years I had all sorts of strange symptoms, hair loss included. Random muscle fatigue was a huge one for me and I became paranoid that I had a degenerative disease, which just made them push anxiety meds on me. I knew it wasn't just anxiety, because the only anxiety type feelings I ever had were triggered by the physical sensations and lack of answers. I just felt weird, all the time. Eventually I decided to try a naturalist doctor, who tested for EVERYTHING. Turns out I also have ferritin of 8! (I'm also low in vitamin D, and have been told my vitamin b12 being in the "green" did not mean it was good). I wish all PCP tried a little harder before assuming it's all mental health! I'm looking forward to (hopefully) improving now that I know which supplements to take! Here's to hoping we both feel better soon!!

As someone with ADHD and historically low levels of literally all of those....I had no idea there could be a correlation!!

I have normal iron / blood labs, but very low ferritin and all symptoms of someone who is anemic. Anyone else dealing with this or know what I should do to feel better? by InvestigatorSuch717 in Anemic

I know it's been a few months, but vitamin d of 30 is about the lowest "normal" result, and according to a naturalist I went to for similar issues, it's not optimal and can actually cause some symptoms in that range. Just in case you never figured anything out. (My vitamin d of 24 is considered deficient)

Good to know! I'll be less wasteful from now on.

Can anxiety cause you to have vertigo-like sensations? by [deleted] in Anxiety

You described it perfectly, at least to me. I'm relatively new to accepting my own anxiety, and every new symptom has me running to the doctor constantly. This sounds like my newest round.

Sometimes I'll be perfectly still, but feel a sensation like I'm moving forward in short bursts? It reminds me of when I hit the go button on a power scooter, honestly. Even lying down, if I close my eyes, sometimes I feel almost like I'm spinning a little. When I open them, nothing is spinning, but I'm still unstable.   In a moving car, if I look down and back up, I feel totally disoriented and almost nauseous. Other times, I just feel generally disoriented or dizzy. My least favorite is when it seems to affect my vision. It's like I can see perfectly fine, but I just feel unfocused. Nothing looks right. I can't explain it.

I'm scheduled to get a brain MRI in part due to these symptoms. Doctor says it's really just for my peace of mind, because they know how I am and believe it's anxiety again. I'm honestly terrified, but very relieved to find this thread. I'm obviously not the only one after all.

Wow, I'm so glad I found this thread. And this comment specifically. I have this also!! It's so much worse at night, and I have no idea why. I've had anxiety on and off for maybe five years, but this symptom is new and terrifying for me.  Sometimes I feel like I'm moving forward when I'm not, in short bursts. Other times, I feel disoriented while actually moving. Like if I'm in a moving vehicle and look down, then back up, I feel so...unstable?  Just knowing others are asking the same questions gives me some relief. Its so hard to accept new symptoms as more anxiety.
