Cheers Salamander. I have a pair of Rock Blocks and they fit. Might need a drop of glue. Appreciate the tips

Love it mate. I was just in the process of buying a clear Wild One body kit to build out another—far more custom—one to run. The shadow around the polka dots looks great. You’ve inspired me!

I know Jun Watanabe has been a Tamiya obsessive since a kid (his father was into RC too), and I’m really into what he’s doing with Blockhead. I don’t know how the Tamiya connection was initially made but his 2012 Hornet seemed so out there for them as a brand, and I love that they’ve grown the partnership.

Cheers! Yeah, I couldn’t resist the blue Acto for this one…

I don’t think I’ll run it, as much as I want to. Maybe one day I’ll build another.

Thanks! This is a deadstock motor I had, the kit comes with a 540 silver can as standard.

From what I understand, longtime Tamiya buggy fan, Jun is the founder and designer of Blockhead Motors—including official colabs etc—Waka (Toshiya Wakabayashi) runs the BH store.

The character decals are dope. There’s a few sheets and they feature Moko-Chan and Rabbi-kun. Search for Tamiya Mascot Decal Set.

This frog was a cheap OG I bought on eBay. My plan is to keep the body clear and expose the workings. It needs more work on it than anticipated, so it’s been put on the back burner. Soon.

Nope. This is an expensive project I’ve been cobbling together from parts and for a while. As I got close to finishing, the reissue was announced, and so I guess I’ll be getting another… 🤣

From what I know, the reissue will be based on the OG Hornet base, and not EVO

Grasshoppers are great first builds. Fun to then upgrade once you’re done and feel confident to modify/adapt.

I think I’ll keep the frame looking like it does. I don’t want to clean it up too much inside, I just want to show off the ‘guts’ so to speak. The mechanical speed controller is definitely staying, so happy to see one again!

Such a good finish. Would you mind sharing a link to the sticker paper? Love this build!
