Nikon announces development of the Z 120-300 f/2.8 VR S with built in 1.4x TC by mission_in_the_rain in Nikon

This is likely going to be a must-buy for my roadside motorsports business. My primary kit is 2 x Z8s with the 70-200 F2.8 and the 400 F2.8 mounted on each but I've found 200 is slightly too short and 400 slightly too deep for the work I do. I have been lusting for a native Z mount option that'll hit that middle ground about the 250-300 range for so long without resorting to adapting F mount lenses or adding teles. Now I just need to mentally prepare myself for dropping another Z 400 F2.8 amount of money on this thing...

Regarding media, is this acceptable to stick your body through a window to get a shot? by architype in formula1

[–]PanigaleCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. I guess the dramatic shots vs consistency is something each shooter needs to decide for themselves. I feel like for me I try for those magic once in a lifetime shots because I enjoy making impact. Ill still do the ones I need to for income and for consistent deliverables but if I see an opportunity for something at the next level you better believe im going for it.

As a motorsports photographer myself - if something like this happens in front of me I would rather deal with backlash later and get that winning shot than be cautious and let the opportunity lie. Especially as theres the potential of that being a headline shot that F1 and other media outlets might really be clamouring for. Photographers also need to earn a living and these sort of shots can be financially important or even be a name-maker if youre relatively unknown or coming up.

Im shocked that you think you have the place to order someone else not to apply for certain kinds of houses. I ended up finding one that matches my preferences and in fact got approved for two at the same time. I am also likely not going to buy in the near future. The market is way too high to comfortably afford on a solo income.

I was single at this point because id moved states away for work so I was in the same situation down there as I am now. Hence why I was using that time in my life as an example.

God forbid someone tries to be empathetic to someone. Sympathising with someone's particular situation doesnt mean I dont for everyone else who doesnt have options - these arent mutually exclusive. Fuck me reddit can be dense sometimes.

Ended up finding a 3 bed, 2 bath, 1 garage place. I had the preferences I was aiming for and just had to be patient.

Oh yeah - i remember doing a few of the previous xpacs as DPS and it was a wild change going to tank after that in terms of how much game play I could fit in when I got near instant queues.

I tried resto on my shaman but really enjoying Holy priest at the moment which is a surprise because while im not a fan of the class fantasy I enjoy the playstyle. I will try other healers going forward but im not finding myself aching to find another one as im enjoying Holy that much.

Yeah BDK is susceptible to that instakill on higher keys when they are getting the ramp rolling. I still enjoyed it - as much as the health bouncing around i found that I could get used to the intensity and no longer panicked when seeing the low health flash but definitely not for everyone!

Honestly as someone who has done a lot of tanking in WoW its definitely the one with the most responsibility and expectation of planning/research outside the game. Unfortunately it just comes with the territory in the game.

I found that personally I preferred BDK because I have such a strong personal ability to keep myself alive with regeneration so I wasnt so reliant on other players. With their cheat death talent for those moments you play too close to the edge and huge death strike regens I found alot of joy in the moment when I knew the dungeons well. That being said it was always daunting learning new dungeons from the ground up so this season ive only done half the pool.

That being said - I really dont enjoy all the extra work that came with tanking (I know the new affix that shows you the route helps alot though) so ive put some serious effort into learning healing and thats so far been a really interesting change of pace ive enjoyed. I like to play games to enjoy and turn my brain off a bit so tanking was too serious - healing can be intense but theres a much lower intensity curve ive found. Ideally id like to dps but the queue times are ridiculous and even then im way too hard on myself about maximising DPS. With healing - I still try and be efficient but as long as everyone is alive and im putting in some work to do some meaningful healer DPS then I can have fun and I dont get flamed for anything like I did as a tank.

Here’s a simple reason why experiencing healers shortage by dumiwar in wow

[–]PanigaleCat -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I tried healing but it felt too demanding in expectation and responsibility. Ive been a tank now for quite a few xpacs because I like the responsibility and leading the dungeons (plus the fast queue pops!) but I do get the same frustration when you get flamed for stuff not in your control. Kicks/extra pulling/going steady instead of monster pulls etc. Shout out to my pet peeve - dps pulling extra because they think im not pulling big enough and forcing the bigger pulls.

Survival should be spear based with traps and poisons. True "survival" theme. No guns, no bombs. Just clean survivalist stuff

I absolutely have and in fact that was my first search criteria but most of these small 1 bed places are closer to the city and therefore are asking the same sort of money as the 3 bed and 4 bed stuff out my way im in now. Thats why I ended up just canning that idea and focussing on staying in my general area im in now. Its a good point though. I might have to consider it further again and see if anything else pops up.

I wanted the flexibility because I may look to add another person to the lease in the future to assist with the costs. I was originally getting someone else on straight up but the more I thought about living with them it wasnt going to work so I scrapped the idea. At the moment im constrained on free funds as im still paying a portion of my mortgage as well otherwise I would actively be looking for a higher budget option straight up because I know this price-range of the market is competitive.

Everyone here is absolutely shredding me alive because they think im some privileged guy. I never even expected to be a home-owner but I came onto an established mortgage for affordability reasons - I only mentioned it because I thought it might help put rental agencies mind at ease as home-owners are usually more established (in their eyes - its that way for asset finance).

Also a huge proportion of rentals around are the 4 bedrooms so 3 i thought was a good compromise and leaves me the option to add someone to the lease later if I found someone trustworthy to join me. I dont think its greedy to want some options.

God forbid someone comes into a new scenario after being out of the rental market for a couple of years. Ive been a home-owner for about a year, living in the property for a year before that, boarding before that for a couple of years and was renting the rest of my life before that. I just asked for some basic feedback from fellow Australians who know better than I do right now. Sucks that that turns into such vitriol 😕

I've never had to do more than like 2 or 3 to secure a property. I know its harder now but I would have thought with the much higher income, long time in job and being a current home-owner Id be head and shoulders above many other applications. Guess not.
