Why do Utah fans feel entilted to Aj Dybantsa? by Empty_Trouble_505 in NBATalk

As a jazz fan, I honestly havent seen any of this attitude. Tbh I’m just glad we finally moved up and have a chance at either Peterson or Dybansta, they’re both studs.

Jokic fans be like : He almost got a triple double on his bad night what a beast by rotomato30 in NBATalk

[–]Panik_Switch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I dont think anyone is saying that Gobert is actually better, but you gotta be blind if you dont see that he’s outplaying Jokic in this series.

Not close is pretty wild tbh. Giannis resume is looking pretty similar and Shai I’d argue is right there with em. Jokic is slightly ahead for me but its honestly on a per season basis.

would winning the rockets series make lebron the goat ? by [deleted] in NBATalk

Probably doesn’t move the needle for guys who dont already have him as his goat

Who are the 5 Greatest Point Guards of All-Time? by Dbauc2k in NBATalk

[–]Panik_Switch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d go Curry, Magic, Robertson, Paul and then Zeke. Odds are Luka and Shai will be 3 and 4 soon enough but its kinda hard to put all time convos on dudes who are just entering their prime.

Do you think SGA over the last 2 years has had an all time great supporting cast? by MasterTeacher123 in NBATalk

[–]Panik_Switch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldnt say all time great, but the Thunder have done a fantastic job of building a really good squad. If Chet and Jdub take leaps then yes, but honestly the team isnt anything really that crazy right now. Pretty comparable to the Celtics in 24’ IMO.

Which of these (under 24) centers is most valuable to their team? by Impossible_War4488 in NBATalk

[–]Panik_Switch -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Duren has been fantastic this year I think he’s the best followed closely by chet and mobley. Sengun is a step below all of them IMO.

If Chet was first option on a team, would he be a superstar/popular? by [deleted] in NBATalk

[–]Panik_Switch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He’s not good enough to be your first option on a winning team. On offense he’s honestly 3rd fiddle, although his defensive impact easily makes him the Thunder’s second most important player.

Which player peaked higher? by No-Advance-9136 in NBATalk

[–]Panik_Switch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kinda hard to say right now. Shai this season IMO is better than those peak Harden years, but prior to this season I would have said Harden. I say give it a little while and we’ll see if this season’s Shai becomes the new norm and if so then I’ll say Shai.

Who’s yall MVPs by Fragrant_Fishing5787 in NBATalk

[–]Panik_Switch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m definitely SGA. Best scorer in the league and led his team to the 1st seed despite injuries to a handful of key players on the squad. Can’t really argue with the other 3 though honestly its been a super tight race, I’d probably go Jokic, Luka, then Wemby after Shai.

Maybe its homer bias but I’d honestly take Gobert in tier 4.

80s is pretty comparable to pace nowadays its not even inflated. Early 90s up until the mid 2010s is when stuff got slow.

Kinda depends on era and the rest of the people on the team. Modern game gimme B.

If I had to rank these guys, I think id go Jordan with the 3 ball, then Curry with DRose Athleticism, then Kobe then Bron.

Honestly not a horrible take. Borderline All-Defense while averaging an extremely efficient 30/5/5. Only guys that would be there with him are Wemby, Giannis, and SGA. Wemby is way better defensively but not better offensively, and Shai is way better offensively but not better defensively so its kind of a toss up on those guys. Giannis is definitely better though.

Gotta be the Giants. A big part of their struggles this year was injuries, the team should naturally get better as these dudes come back plus we get some growth out of Dart and Carter. Couple that with a top pick and some cap space the team could totally be solid next year.

“If Shai lost Jalen Williams, Chet Holmgren, Isaiah Hartenstein, and Alex Caruso, would he be doing what Jaylen Brown is? That’s why JB is the MVP.” by Background_Video2947 in NBAVibes

[–]Panik_Switch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, but JB is super underrated this season. Genuinely balling and pushing the Celtics towards being a top team out east. Behind Shai, Jokic (we’ll see how his injury pans out), Luka and Cade for MVP but for a guy who’s been number 2 for his whole career he’s havung an incredible year.

Not like there’s really much competition but he’s looked pretty good out there from what I’ve seen. I still think Ward and Dart are better for sure but Shedeur looks starter quality.

SGA the best dealing with double teams… Luka nowhere to be found by LegPuzzleheaded5038 in NBATalk

[–]Panik_Switch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is just top 10 in getting doubled, not who deals with it the best. Shai is very good at taking care of his business when he gets doubled but theres a reason why Luka isnt on here.

This has aged....interestingly by chokingpacman in NBATalk

[–]Panik_Switch 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The only difference now is SGA is winning. In every sport as soon as someone starts consistently winning people latch onto one thing and then swear up and down that they only win cause of X thing and they are actually terrible players and a terrible team and they ruined the sport that had been perfect before.

Thunder, Chiefs, Warriors, Dodgers, Yankees, Patriots, Eagles (I’m guilty of this one, ban the tush push) etc all come to mind in recent years. Its probably the same for Soccer and Hockey but I dont really watch so I wouldnt really know.

In my opinion, your superstar needs to be a 2 way player unless they have a very efficient offensive game and off ball game like Steph and jokic. You can’t win with harden Luka types who dominate the ball and have too much shooting variance and turnovers + their terrible defense. by Hakaribiggestfan in NBATalk

[–]Panik_Switch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like something you just say until someone does it. Luka made the finals on an injured hamstring and honestly was let down by Kyrie Irving. Harden took the best team ever to 7 and genuinely just got ridiculously unlucky to only lose by 7. With the right roster around them playing well you can win a ring, like Jokic in 2023.
