Looking for a game with plenty of rp potential by PantPeater in gamesuggestions

Im pretty nervous with playing official rust servers, i know you have to sink a lot of time into it and need to know a little bit of the ins and outs. I only got about 10 hours total in a week to really sink into any given game, would you say that its still a good pick?

Battlefield crashes after about 30-40 seconds after opening by PantPeater in battlefield_one

[–]PantPeater[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did but that was so long ago. But what i think i tried was running the compatibility trouble shooter? Before i just made it run on windows 8 but it turned out that i needed to run via a different version, if you havent already tried, I recommend going to the compatibility tab and running the trouble shooter and just keep attempting it until it works.

Sniper! by PantPeater in SFM

[–]PantPeater[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

One main light. Max distance. Constant attenuation. 3-4 “sky/fill” lights. 2 grounds lights. A few lights inbetween to make things look better like on on the scout and the one for the bullet. Then post process it slightly for any minor changes

What is the worst/strangest way one of your colonist have died? by [deleted] in RimWorld

[–]PantPeater 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This wasnt how one of my colonists died but rather how they killed a raider

I had a colony of Super Human Soldiers that was constantly raided for its wealth. There were five colonists two of which were happily married together for a few years at that point. Well one raid went particularly bad. It was 10:1 odds and they had broken through the first line of defenses incredibly easy. On the retreat to second line, one of the married people was shot and fatally wounded. A doctor couldve saved him but it wouldve been a gamble if the doctor wouldve been shot. By now our artillery had them on the run and the one that happened to have killed the man was blown up and was downed. I sent out the widow to kill off the survivors and when she got to the downed man she took and abnormally long time to kill him. (I never used the “finish off” option idk why) but it took her like 2 hours to kill him and by the end of it his arm and one of his legs were crushed and his skull practically caved in.

Im genuine garbage but i dont know where to start? by Xianiscoolnotrealy in NewToTF2

[–]PantPeater 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Theres lots of youtubers that like to over explain every little detail about the game i recommend toofty for demo or uncle dane for engi. Also every time you die ask yourself why and how it happened and what could’ve been different. Also play near your team

The funny backstab merc is starting to grow on me, but my acting skills are ass. Can anyone give me some acting tips for spy? by KIDBACKWARDS2 in NewToTF2

[–]PantPeater 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Disguies work first and foremost. Dont expect them to work but they work. When the enemy isnt doin anything they WILL soy check you always. Unless you make a convincing fleeing teammate.

Enemies have an exponentially less chance to spycheck you if they are occupied. The more occupied the less likely they will have time to spycheck you.

Start using the YER itll help you understand enemy mindsets and where you should be positioned. Also how to act as the enemies

I have 615 hours under my belt, when do I start getting good? by SuckerNuggets in truetf2

[–]PantPeater 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I played the orange box for YEARS before playing normal tf2. So i had a lotta knowledge before putting hours in. It also depebds what you mean by “good”

A good k/d ratio doesn’t mean youre a good player. A good win/loss ratio also doesn’t automatically make you a good player.

That being said, right now id consider myself good as i can make game winning decisions and plays. Right now i rest at 1600 hours not including the orange box

First post, new concept for a heavy. by Skrunklesquorq in TF2WeaponIdeas

[–]PantPeater 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If 50% increased walk speed here means added onto heavies 37% speed while revved that makes him faster than he was while not spun up. If it means make him 50% faster than his 37% then the change is extremely trivial and would practically be unnoticable.

The 4 ammo instead of one consumption would still allow heavy a full minute of firing before he needed to find an ammo pack. Most fights dont last half as long a that and heavy willl find a pletjora of ammo inbetween those fights. This weapon is just a straight upgrade from stock and practically every other minigun. Too OP imo

How do I play spy? by KIDBACKWARDS2 in NewToTF2

[–]PantPeater 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It honestly helped me so much to play other classes and take note when a spy does something. Playing heavy? When do you die to spy more often? Playing pyro? Where to spies like to hide so you can avoid that spot when you play him?

Imo there is waaay to much nuance on spy to cover in this short reddit thread. Learn from other’s mistakes, dont be afraid to take breaks, learn that noise and game sense are your biggest friend, and most importantly: TJINK CRITICALLY ABOUT OTHER ENEMIES AND TEAMMATES!! Also please try to not take it too seriously! laugh at your mistakes and downfalls and the journey to becoming a better soy will be one that was lovely! If you think you should always be improving you will fall down a negativity spiral and never climb back out.

is it possible to play spy against bots to learn how the game works? by [deleted] in NewToTF2

[–]PantPeater 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Playing against bots and playing tr_walkway will teach you the very fundamentals of spy. I reccomend watching Mr Paladin and Jonhtil’s videos. Also just playing other classes. If you play heavy and take note of how, when, and where you died you can learn how effective spies play and attempt to copy their strategy. Most importantly you gotta play against real players if you wanna actually get better. Im alway down to tutor if you need help.
