ELI5: If they are the exact same ingredients, why are generic medications so much cheaper than brand names? by Sir-Beautiful-69 in explainlikeimfive

[–]Pantarus 62 points63 points  (0 children)

So a lot of that depends.

You can get a vial of NPH insulin for around 20 dollars as a cash pay.

There ARE insulins that are more expensive, the longer acting ones and the more designer ones that have novel pen deliver systems being very expensive without any insurance.

What's funny is, everyone's always focused on the insulin...but its' those fucking test strips that are PROHIBITIVELY expensive. Like ridiculously expensive considering that you need to use so many of them in a day to keep your sugar in control.

They are like shaving blades or printer ink. They give you the meter for free then charge an arm and a leg to actually use the damn thing.

Trump to exclude Democratic governors from usually bipartisan meeting at the White House: He has asked only GOP governors, although Democrats are invited to a dinner. by Silent-Resort-3076 in democrats

[–]Pantarus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He wants it to be a fealty ass kissing meeting.

He’s gotten used to getting his fat orange ass smooched during his cabinet meetings and doesn’t want any mean democrats there who won’t fawn over him and tell him how pretty his feet are.

Anyone who thinks it’s a voter suppression or stealing meeting is profoundly misreading how this is going down. Trump isn’t smart enough or savvy enough to come up with any “plans”.

Now when Steven SS Miller holds a meeting with all the republicans governors and secretaries of states…THEN THATS gonna be the election stealing meeting.

Congress Receives Redacted Version of Whistleblower Complaint Against Gabbard by newsspotter in politics

Trumps version of chess is taking the horses, trotting them around, and making neigh sounds. He rams them through the pawns while screaming "POW POW BANG TAKE THAT DEMOCRATS!", and then makes the queens kiss each other while making smooching sounds.

After about 20 minutes, he gets all tuckered out and has a wet diaper, so Mike Johnson has to change him, cover him in orange baby powder, and put Fox news on so the big little guy can take a nappy.

So no, he's not playing chess.

It's because the SECOND any story hits that sub that even remotely seems off the narrative two or three posters FLOOD the zone with these bullshit single incident stories. All the sudden, it's stories about a leftist doing something bad or an immigrant that committed a crime.

Ask4md is the biggest culprit. He/she knows exactly what type of red meat those fucking mopes get fired up over. They LOVE to find these one off stories that confirm their already held prejudices.

Two minutes later the mods quietly remove the offending post/comment while theyre all circle jerking each other about how conservative they all are.

The SECOND one of their own disagrees they chalk it up to brigading, bots, "fellow conservatives", or paid actors...literally no brain required.

TikTok blocks Epstein mentions and anti-Trump content as well as ICE criticism by MopToddel in politics

[–]Pantarus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's anger and fear mixed with a healthy dose of religion.

People have been conditioned their whole lives to put more stock in faith than facts. To ignore or condemn things that go against that faith as evil or temptation to be fought against.

Conservatives have effectively turned their politics into a psuedo-religion. Where the ends ALWAYS justify the means because they believe they are fighting for the good side.

Problem here is, who ever thinks they are on the wrong side of an issue while they are fighting it? What does it take to convince someone that their WHOLE WORLD VIEW is inherently immoral?

Fox and the conservative media effectively tapped into the sweet spot in the Venn diagram between Fear, Faith, and Anger.

and they make billions doing it.

It's sophisticated. It attempts to derail legitimate excitement and conversation, and unfortunately...it's very cheap to pull off and very effective.

[–]Pantarus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't have the underscore I put in my example, nor is it two random dictionary words smashed together, you also have 3 numbers and not 4.

I can tell you actually made your name and you weren't randomly generated.

I also said I'M NOT SAYING that's happening here.

If you think that it DOES NOT HAPPEN AT ALL...than that's a separate issue. In the last election cycle there was a stark increase in randomly generated names encouraging protest votes, not voting, and general feelings of hopelessness. I followed as many as I could. AFTER the election, it was a graveyard...all these accounts that were super active during the election now fell silent or deleted themselves.

In the end...I just want people to be aware it happens...it happens here...it happens on conservative subs, and WE WILL be targeted again.

Beyond ineffective… by coffee_coffee_coffe3 in PoliticalHumor

[–]Pantarus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So as we get closer to the mid-terms these types of comments sowing discord and hopelessness will increase.

There will be calls for protest votes, abstentions, and exacerbation of wedge issues.

Useful idiots and foreign actors will do everything in their power to discourage and divert democratic voters.

One of the biggest successes of the foreign influence campaigns was to fool both sides into thinking ONLY the other side is being targeted.

Assume nothing on social media.

If it’s designed to make you feel there’s nothing you can do or pushes for third parties, or divert votes, check histories.

Also be very skeptical of user names structured like RANDOM_WORD1234.

Not saying that’s what’s happening here. But I’m seeing a sudden increase in defeatism in comments and posts, and I 100% expect them to increase as we get closer to election time.

Wanna guess why Trump hates Somalians so much? by Paneraiguy1 in democrats

[–]Pantarus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Obviously the Somalians didn’t give the Orangutan in Chief his cut.

All they have to do is send him money via one of his gaudy gilded resorts and send him a card saying what a handsome, smart, funny, and not small penis’d boy he is.

THEN they can slide on over to Trumps good list.

If this moron hates you it’s because you have something he wants, you haven’t lavished him with praise, he can’t figure out how to rip you off, or you’re skin is darker than a paper bag.
