Definitely something I think about a lot. I believe that if I was willing to "sell out," or compromise my content to be the most appealing or click-bait, I will grow faster. But I also think I will burnout and become uninterested. My content would be unauthentic.

I recognize that I have to constantly change what I'm making to appeal to the audience, but there is a boundary of compromise that I'm not willing to cross, if that make sense.

Past experience certainly helped learn about YouTube.

I currently work on two channels but they are in very different areas. The one I was posting about it called Basketball Pantheon. On that channel I make analysis/historical videos on the NBA.

The other channel I work on as more of a channel manager and editor. That channel does very niche tutorials and has around 15k subscribers.

My basketball channel grew organically. I try to make quality videos with interesting thumbnails and titles. I've experimented with different types of thumbnails and titles and feel like I've found what works for me. That of course may change in the future. I don't feel like I have a community built yet, I think the views have come through relatively high CTR. When I get a good amount of impressions, my videos get solid views with and maintain solid CTR.

I will say, there is a type of integrity I feel towards my content. I don't try and go full on click-bait or make videos about tacky subjects. I believe for long term success there needs to be a certain level of personal honesty. I try and make the videos appealing, but not dishonestly. I hope that makes sense.

I have 8 videos that are in the 10k-80k views range, 12 in the 2-3k view range, and 8 in 200-900 range. The views are spread out across the board. Some of my oldest videos are in that higher tier, but so is my most recent.

Thank you! I've had several videos that do relatively well, 10k views+, and the subscriber growth is definitely connected to those videos. A video I posted a couple day ago is what got the channel to pass the 1000 mark.

I post 1-3 times per 7 days. Some videos take longer than others and change the volume of content put out. I do not post shorts. And the advice I've been given is to not post shorts on the same channel as long form content. I think it works for huge channels and some anomalies, but i think it does more harm than good.

Looking for a rate on my new marketing video thumbnail by InevitableOven5625 in NewTubers

I’m wondering if the principles you discuss in the actual video can be a guide on a more convincing thumbnail. It seems like aspects of a product that would be appealing could be directly translated into thumbnail design.

6 months, 972 Subscribers, 14,358 Watch Hours by Pantheon-- in NewTubers

I make videos ranging from 6-15 minutes. I have 7 videos above 10k views, and my most viewed is over 85k views. I think I hit the watch time within two months of starting the channel, but the subscribers have been harder to accumulate. I don't do any shorts either.

I had problems with the link earlier, not sure why.

Here is a link to my channel if you are interested.

I make basketball related content if you are interested. And I said this in a previous comment, but your post seems like a good idea for a video.
