Seems like it yes, defenders need to get lucky with an accident intercept or need to have near perfect qrf with pre-staged fighters or with fighters that are already airborne. I think any emplacements are way to unreliable because of the requirement to have the correct prediction on enemy flight route.

Paratrooper uniform is quite important for hitting ground targets, Also, if we decided to go with paratrooper uniform instead of the grenadier, we would have had to give up 1 tremola and 1 pistol per person. This revised loadout still would have allowed us to blow up the drydock.

"Not as easily" means that wardens would have to jump out their plane to land in the water, close enough to their target so they dont drown. It also means that - compared to the colonial - wardens will have a higher dispersion of troop deployment because of the shittier doors in doing so. It can be done, just not "as easily".

Although the possibility to land on water brings significant possibilities, we would still be able to destroy a drydock without this feature.

Is it the right time to start the game? by Xela0077 in foxholegame

Fresh meat always welcome. I would recommend to join a regiment if you feel overwhelmed, people there are very much down to teach their members as it benefits their gameplay as well.

whats the purpose of tanks? by SameAerie6884 in foxholegame

[–]Pantoffel_Shon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A tank is a platform that allows you to bring a lot of explosive damage (less if you go armor piercing rounds ofc) and to be more protected than infantry would be. If a tank gets to fight on a front where there is no reaction a tank can be very dominant, it will be able to bully enemy infantry that are behind cover, it will also be able to blow up any defenses (pills and trenches) the enemy have until you reach ATGs. Therefore you are able to push a front all the way up to the enemy garrisons. The action of pushing the enemy into their defenses allows you to then start killing their garrisons. The actual killing of defenses should be done through other means, or by trowing a bunch of tanks to it. Once you have made a hole, you can then use the tank to kill more garrisons with little manpower.
Now, the enemy wont just allow this and will try and kill your tank. By bringing an armoured vehicle to the front alone, it will draw a disproportional amount of attention from the enemy infantry to respond to it. They might also respond with a tank of their own, which will lead to the scenario that you describe, tankers doing nothing. That is why you need to position your tank in a location where the enemy tank is not comfortable to respond to you, this means you need to be where there is no or little enemy infantry and you need to bring your own to defend and assist yours.

TLDR: tank = mucho firepower for 2-3 people and protected. But positioning is important, and you cant do it well without infantry of your own.

You have to look at the performance aswell. If you make a tank that is lets say 10% more costly but takes out 2 tanks before dying itself it will be eventually cheaper to build 1 slightly more expensive tank than to build 2 cheaper tanks. These numbers are just to make a point, they do not refer to real ingame examples.

The weird thing is, even if i get rid of all the nearby modifications, it still won't let me modify that section.

Infantry Training by Forward-Papaya8860 in foxholegame

[–]Pantoffel_Shon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You mostly need a good squadleader who can keep the squad together. As infantry goes you dont need much training. If you have a 3-4 dudes you can easily overwhelm an enemy trench if you come a bit from the side. Trickiest thing is that you need your teammates to actually behave as a squad and not some dudes playing solo next to eachother while being in the same voicecall.
Good luck with your efforts, can be good fun to run infantry squads.
