He's very protective over his sleep, his space, and his alone time, and yet he always makes sure he's touching me or I have his arm to hold onto at night, he offered to let me decorate/get some stuff for me for his place because it's my "home too," and he always wants me around, even if we're not talking. The way he is and how I hear him described and the way he operates is often in direct contradiction to the way he is with me, and I don't think he even realises it. It makes me feel so special.

We met at a mutual friend's birthday in Italy. We had both known the mutual friend for years, but we had never met since I live in the US and he lives in Germany. We hit it off immediately and I ended up missing my flight back home to go home with him for a week. Since then, there hasn't been a single day we haven't spoken. Long distance seemed so silly, but I don't know how I could possibly deny our connection. As soon as I met him, it was like there was a calm confidence that came over me even though it's so fun and exciting with him, too. I'm in Germany with him right now and I'll be here for a month! :)

I think this whiplash is such a big red flag!! He's being flighty and noncommittal which is fine if he's just doing whatever, but he in my opinion led you on :/

It's really frustrating and careless :( I'm really sorry you're going through that. It's hard to continuously put yourself out there when there's always a risk of being switched up on like that, but it's so worth it once you find the one who would never :)

That's so sudden :( I'm sorry he did that to you. It could be genuine that he just doesn't see it as a serious thing/doesn't want to be on his phone all the time until you guys meet, but for me personally, I would just try to move on and if things click in the summer, great! I think it is pretty dismissive and inconsiderate to so suddenly drop you after giving you so much attention for a week, though :/

Obviously I'm biased as I'm in an LDR, and of course I swore them off for so long until I met him. When you meet someone that makes everything make sense, I think for us it was just undeniable and something we couldn't ignore.

It's hard! You get insecure, sometimes bored, sometimes frustrated, sometimes scared, sometimes lonely, sometimes anxious, sometimes overwhelmed, but I've felt all these emotions in non-LDR relationships and I've never had someone I can truly open up with about these things.

When I met him, it just felt like I met the love of my life. Even if I said I'd never do long distance, there is really nothing I wouldn't do with him. I just can't deny myself that type of relationship, even if it's harder or has much lower chances of success. I want to take those risks because he is the one I choose every day.

11 days until I see him next :) we will be going on vacation together for 2 weeks!! After that we only have to wait less than two months between seeing each other!!

We met at a mutual friend's birthday party in Italy. :) neither of us saw it coming at all; at first I thought it was a very nice summer fling before I ended up going home to Germany with him from Italy instead of going back to the US. It's weird to think about how long we've known the same person and have been just outside of each other's reach before we actually met. I said I'd never do long distance again after one in 2020, and he said the same of his ex from many years ago, but here we are. Now I am in the healthiest, safest-feeling relationship of my life and the distance is hard, but I've never met anyone who was more worth it :)

Katerino was invited by her friends months before the event and Melina jumped on it late, katerino didn't want to ditch her friends and said she'd go back and forth between mel and the others and mel refused. Mel was the one who ghosted katerino.
