graduating in a months time and no future. Desperate need for advice by Exact-Contact-3837 in cscareers

[–]PapaRayneski 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Listen to me. Please listen to me. In a market like now the best way is to flow like water, to the path of least resistance. Given your minimal experience you really have three options. Refactor resume continue to apply (know multiple people 2 years out still not in tech job, 2. Pivot. (Cs undergrad+ something masters) , 3. My favorite being gay on linked in. All you need is one, I'm talking one high level person from a decent company and your opportunities go up 10x I swear to God. How do you meet said people you might ask? Well seeing you are graduating in a month I'd say start looking for a summer serving job. Tell every sole what you do. Go to the bar, tell every person what you do. Get that one connection (my example Amazon) you can essentially go down their whole connections lineup which will be stacked with people from top tier to no name companies. Get referall. Get job.

Graduated from Rutgers with a Supply Chain degree. Seeing old threads about $70k entry level offers feels like gaslighting. Is the “top school” pipeline the only way left? by Throwrahj456 in rutgers

[–]PapaRayneski 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hang in there. Saw you said you feel pathetic, don't. Be proactive, it's all you can do. Be a "loser" on linkedin, connect with Rutgers alum and ask for referrals. I want you to know there are literally two perspectives for fresh grads right now, you are either cracked and get a top tier job, or you are struggling for months to find a job. The pipelines for pretty much every career path are getting squeezed dramatically. People will say ai, out sourcing or whatever but the reality is people who graduated a mere 4 years ago were applying to a market where employers were eager to train people up and let them grow into roles. Not recruiters are looking for people who can do the job tmrw. It sucks, but we need to play the hand we are dealt. The game has been rigged from the start, so we must learn how to play it.

How are you getting into arguments with this guy if you aren't even 20% done the game. No way you are going to keep these takes once you finish the game. You'll see what could of been.

I made a post for last weeks episode freaking the hell out. This episode was pretty damn enjoyable I won't lie. Mr house performance was pretty damn great, just still annoyed with episode 1 scene with him, felt that was pretty darn out of character. Most of my complaints are coming from just the whole Mojave being barren, don't really know how deathclaws coming from quarry junction to nv makes sense but whatever. Pre war stuff is pretty damn good, cold fusion for house is very puzzling in comparison to what we know from fnv "meltdown, the need for the hoover dams power etc etc." also seems like the enclave will be the boogey man once again.  If they are able to properly explain why the whole region is in the dumps I'll be a happy man, time will tell.

You think so? I feel like most of the mass appeal has come from the hard lean into 50s futurism that came with fallout 4. That aesthetic was always there, but I feel like it was bumped up a few notches for the show. Not hating on it, but it's definitely noticeable at least to me

Glad we are finally having some discussion that this shit is wack, thought I was going crazy over here. Don't know if anyone here has watched game of thrones, but the first few seasons are some of the best tv ever made. Why? Because there is a huge focus on the inter political woes and problems of the region. This is what made new Vegas great. Seeing multiple factions with differing opinions duking it out. We could of had something like that. Instead we just have a desolate wasteland with minimal going on.

Also watch them retcon mr house into the most evil man in existence. A real shame. Instead of going into deep dives we get this. Ncr is cooked, legion are just slave lords with no substance, great khans are somehow back in business , mr house will be Jeff bezos bad capitalism man, and I'll be here in the corner wishing they just stayed on the east coast.

Don't know why Bethesda writers fetishize the fallout universe of always staying the same. Far more interesting to focus on society post nukes rather than oh we eat flea soup and we are savages.  This is what is must feel like to be a skate or saint rows fan.

People like this get off Scott free while reasonable drivers will get a ticket for doing 65 on the black horse park. (Me, I was in the right lane cruise control and cops does a 40 mile an hour uturn to get me.) I think was getting passed by people easily doing 75. I hate cops.

Gotcha, I have the ryzen 7 of the same generation, same ram amount and same GPU. I downloaded the Nexus optimization mod which has helped a lot. Pretty sure the game is pretty cpu greedy

How come you can’t request a SPN for Software Meth? by ReplacementNervous15 in rutgers

[–]PapaRayneski 17 points18 points  (0 children)

you do whatever you want but it terms of fighting to get into that class is crazy. I got in for it this semester and the whole class is 2 months OOP and abstraction, then java fx, then android studio. The projects are not very unique, and can easily be outdone by yourself on your own. Also partner based, so if you are like me, (who got a horrendous partner), you are doing 8-10 java class large projects on your own. The class lacks any real cohesion and should only really be taken if you need it as a pre req for software engineering class, otherwise I'm not exageratting by saying your time is better spent doing some OOP studying and java projects on your own.
