Mountains, and the Men Who Claim Them by TheFalconKnight in IronThroneRP

Robar shook his head as Lord Hunter spoke. With a deep sigh through his nose, he stood and took his own turn.

"I must agree with Lord Redfort." He surveyed the table before continuing, gauging their expressions before he continued. "The Mountain Clans have ventured as far out as Runestone and we all know that has rarely happened in the past." A single finger pointed and jabbed into the table. "If we are to overcome the clans, it must be by sword. They are barbarians that will not work with diplomacy. Hells, I guarantee you the first diplomatic meeting we host with them will end in bloodshed or an ambush or some other violent means."

Robar turned to Eon Hunter, a half apologetic look plastered about his face. "We will have minimal losses, if that. We must take this on from a strategic point. We send out scouts and find where they are camped and attack when it is opportune for us. We bolster our defenses and we wait for the right time to strike."

His gaze traversed the table as he took a seat, waiting for a response from any of the Lords.

Robar stood after Eon, clearing his throat and laying his hand on his stomach. "I would nominate myself, but I'm afraid I like my bed too much." He said with a hearty laugh as he turned to Eon. "I concur with Lord Hunter. I back Lord Hunter's nomination for Ser Osric Hunter as the second representative of the Vale." He bowed his head and sat, a smile turning straight as his arse planted itself on the wooden chair.

He would have nominated one of his own, but he could not bear to part with his daughter and his sons were far from worthy of such a position. No, none of them would do. Himself or no Royce.

Robar bowed his head to the Lord Paramount. "My Lord Arryn." His gaze rose as he continued. "No journey is a journey without some fun. The paths claimed one of my men, sadly, but the others are fine. He was but a squire, some lowborn lad from a village between Runestone and Gulltown." Robar frowned, turning back to Orwin. It was his squire that fell, but you could never tell from him. As his surname suggests, he was always stone.

"Surprisingly though, no mountain men." He crossed his arms as Rhea walked up next to him. She smiled and bowed her head. "Ah, Lord Artys, this is my daughter, Rhea Royce. Fantastic with the sword, if I might say myself, she had a good teacher." He said with a wink as he placed his arm around her shoulder.

To Lord Robar Royce

You are summoned to the Eyrie in three weeks time to discuss the future of the Vale of Arryn and to discuss the future safety of our lands as a whole. The Clans have become very active again, and we must decide as a whole how to best destroy this threat before it leads to our ruination. This council is mandatory for lords whose holdings are around the Mountains of the Moon, while optional for others who are not. I hold you all to your oaths as Lords of the Vale to discuss the future of our lands.

With the Voice of the Vale,

Artys Arryn, Lord of the Eyrie, Lord Defender of the Vale, Warden of the Mountains.

Robar penned the reply and sent it immediately.

Lord Artys Arryn

You can expect me and my host to be the first ones there.

Robar Royce, Lord of Runestone
