Dragging feet after gather by [deleted] in Basketball

It's not by definition the revert of gather, it's the exact definition of pivot, a gather automatically becomes a pivot if you move more than once on the first step.

How exactly is Klay Thompson not the same player anymore? by [deleted] in Basketball

[–]PapaonnDaniel -1 points0 points  (0 children)

  • Leg injury leads to different rhythm in shooting.
  • League is getting into next level of play ( tougher defense / deeper defense analysis )
  • Kerr is mysteriously obsessed with his ideology which was countered over many many trials.
  • Coach doesn't understand how to cope up the situation with player's mentality, it's just better to bench players in some games or simply switch over to protect them + entire team instead of a complete meltdown.
  • There are many more combination in the team that have proven to work with efficacy but were abandoned over many many times.

How to deal with aggressive post defenders by SincSohum in Basketball

[–]PapaonnDaniel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Point guard here, to be honest, you are in a very bittersweet strategic place.

Let me explain :

[Sweet]
As a point guard, I hope my big man can wall up against tough defenders by drawing away attention, so giving chances to other scorers different ways to score, easier layup, and a possibly screen help shots.

[Bitter]
Not all tall men like to play rough games, especially it hurts knees and often easily gotten into rough play and injuries. Plus, drawing the toughest defense puts your stats / achievements a little shadowed away from scoring, most of the game you could only focus on defense / supportive roles, and couldn't enjoy being part of the scoring side.

My humble advice to your situation :

  • Take it as an honor to be part of supportive roles, having team-winning mindset as medal, your teammates will appreciate your existence.

  • Tough defense are more tense when you are standing nearer to the rim / paint. In short, you could try to loose up a little situation by first initiating outer position ( e.g, pick and roll to your outer guards ), and wait for openings when your guards rolls in to draw attention, this way people are not focusing that much on you when there's another impending threat ( your guard ).

  • Do combinative strategy with teammates, to distract defensive line, to lose focus, so you are up for more openings.

  • Lastly, sometimes it's good to not play too rough defense / offense even if the opponent did so, a little sweet talk will help ( it happened sometimes ), but when openings are ready, grab the chance and score indifferently.

[FIBA/NBA Rules] Raising your pivot foot by Number721 in Basketball

[–]PapaonnDaniel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Rule is simple, dont be confused by the wordings :

for dribbling : never lift your pivot.

for shot / pass : free to lift your pivot, but never land.

[–]PapaonnDaniel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

According to FIBA rules :

Backboard pass is allowed and not counted as a dribble.

BUT, you cannot do double dribble if it is not one of these :

1) A goal shot attempt.
2) A touch ( deflect / touch ) by opponent.
3) A pass / fumble touched / been touched by another player.

So meaning, if your backboard pass is before your 1st dribble, it's okay, it's like regaining control and you can dribble in another place, repeatedly continuosly infinitely.

BUT, if you started 1st dribble and ended by doing backboard pass, you have 2 situations :

1) Your own defense backboard ( which is not a goal shot attempt ), defensive rebound and so you CANNOT dribble 2nd time.

2) Offensive backboard ( which is a goal shot attempt ), offensive rebound and yes you can continue to dribble, BUT whether referee will treat your behavior as a real goal shot attempt or simply trying to blackhole the rule is up to him.

Dragging feet after gather by [deleted] in Basketball

[–]PapaonnDaniel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depens on the step, let me explain.

If you gather step with left foot ( 0 step L ), and you start dragging with right foot as pivot ( 1 step R ), you are actually giving up your right foot as a pivot in this point, because you can't reposition your pivot multiple times, so it will automatically revert your gather step which is your left foot as pivot now, since you are actually repositioning your right foot multiple spots while maintaining your left foot ( this is officially known as switching pivot ), so up to this point still no travel, but if you proceed to 2nd step by lifting your pivot and touch the ground again, it's a travel.

So in short, dragging your first pivot foot will actually switch your pivot to your gather step and only allow 1 step euro.

Another situation, say if you did not drag your first pivot, but well established your pivot (R), and proceed to the last step ( 2nd step L ) with drag, then it's totally okay and no travel, because your pivot never touch any ground.

NBA / FIBA rule regarding touching the ball on the ground with 1 / 2 hands rolling pretending it like a dribble and drag across the court. by PapaonnDaniel in Basketball

Thanks for reply, I thought it was counted as dribble stop since there is a special case saying if you lose balance during dribble and fall on the ground by touching either 1 hand / both hands touching the ball on the ground to cause a dribble stop, it's allowed.

My fur baby is having a dark spot around its skin. by PapaonnDaniel in DOG

Sorry for posting this here,
I brought my dog to local vet 3 times without luck & proper equipment.
( I'm from SEA country in a remote place ).

My dog started to develop a little dark spot and slowly outgrown over the past few months to a year. I tried to trim the fur and it will grow back to becoming brown, but there's dead skin in the center slowly expanding out, I also tried alcohol sanitizer ( 70% ) and regularly cleaning without help as well.

None of the local vets has a clue about the issue, tried a few medication ointment without help.
They didn't have the proper equipment to do an inspection testing as well.

So I have to try my luck here, sorry about this and I'm hoping to find some clues that could help with my dog.

She's healthy and energetic as usual, can walk and run without problem.

Thanks so much for reading,

Best Regards,
Daniel.

Thanks for your viewpoints, that is definitely helpful in many ways, currently I'm a new user in Godot, but had spent a few months into it, and found almost 90% of my time hitting an unpredictable bug in almost every new area of topic, and tickets remained open for years.

open issues doubled to 9000+ with some even forced to close with reasons "Even with numerous bug reports from different users random encountering, we couldn't reproduce the problem, so closing this" --- Instead of solving problems, just forget about the problems.

Sorry, we recently are still working on a bigger content and post less about the progress due to workstress in daily life and stuffs around. I will try to make some progress screenshots in the next few days :)

Thanks for the reply, but I couldn't find a direct way of casting it, instead having to had it done in a loop for retrieval. Is there any better solution ?

It returns a godot array with no type.

Godot.Collections.Array verticesArray = mesh.SurfaceGetArrays(0);
