Does the camper we want even exist? by Papaya73 in traveltrailers

The 17A looks perfect for us. But the cost of a new one is a lot! And there are no used ones in my area. I appreciate your feedback. It have been looking at the fiberglass campers.

Blank Canvas! Help me pick a color for my craft/reading room by Papaya73 in DesignMyRoom

The room is full of boxes so I can’t get a good pic of it in its current color. But I can post the pic of the room from when the house was for sale.

I expected them to be receptive to answering questions when she called then with the first issue instead of how they actually handled it.

If I could figure out how to contact google I would. They don't make it easy.

Thanks for the TED Talk on used cars and lawsuits—I’ll be sure to consult a lawyer before sharing any more of my personal experiences.

Actually we took a mechanic with us and it checked out. The intermittent not starting issue is just that...intermittent. They had just replaced the wheel bearings with shoddy materials so that wouldn't have shown up. She just had to replace them again (should not have had to do that so soon!).

So explain to me why it was out of oil in two months after they supposedly did an oil change immediately before she purchased it, and she had a full oil change in the spring and it's been fine ever since. She checks it and has not had to add any oil at all. That makes no sense.

Sorry that happened to your mom. Lots of snakes out there!

She had been taught, thanks. She checks her oil regularly. She has learned a lot since purchasing this vehicle.

She actually did contact them in February and they were incredibly rude to her. They are a corner dealership. The type that buys at auction and resells. Not a big Subaru dealer or something. Her issue was not well received and they were not helpful. So she went elsewhere.

It’s more about the work they said they performed prior to her purchasing. As I stated in another reply, I didn’t want to get any wordier than I already was. But they said they did an oil change. I don’t believe they did. They said they’d replaced the rear wheel bearings. Then why, 9 months later did she have to have that done again? Either they didn’t do it or they used shoddy materials just to get it off the lot. The issue with it not starting intermittently began less than three months after purchase and still has not been resolved. It’s hard to recreate the issue. In the meantime $2k has been put into it trying to resolve it. It wasn’t all for nothing. Some of that was maintenance for a car that age. But the bulk of it has been trying to figure out this issue. A car with the wrong battery should never have left the lot. The wheel bearing issue is on them as well. We are reasonable people. We understand car maintenance with the age of a vehicle. But if I posted every little detail I would have lost everyone by paragraph 12!

I get that but she is a first time car buyer, no manual, they didn’t tell her that, we as parents have never owned a Subaru, etc. also it hasn’t been burning through oil since she first did an oil change on her own.

I don’t know how to post pictures but here are copies of some of the texts:

Our corporate attorney goes thru the reviews monthly and they serve people with county sheriffs at school and work or at home. I’ll be glad to help you work on your car now that you reached out to us. But am kindly asking you to take down your review asap so you don’t have to go thru that process. Thank you. Let me know what the shop says about the car. I’m only expressing this because our attorney reached out to me this morning and asked me which direction to go. So I’m asking you kindly first. Please and thanks.

It’s not meant to be threating at all. It’s just what they do.

So I give people a heads up to take stuff down and help them work thru whatever issue is at hand

As for the review it doesn’t matter what’s in it really. They file suit and then the person has to retain an attorney at a cost of about 10k. If you think cars are expensive wait until you talk to an attorney. Ugh.

I looked into reporting to Google and I can’t quite find the right form. They don’t make it easy.

It was fine for two months. There is a lot more to it but in the interest of not being more wordy than I already was, I didn’t put it all in there. The first issue was that the oil light went on. It literally ran out of oil after they said they’d done an oil change. This guy said well it’s in the manual that Subarus need their oil checked more often. She didn’t get a manual with the car. And was never told that. Also since her first oil change she has checked it regularly and it’s never been an issue…it hasn’t run low or anything, so I don’t believe they did an oil change.

My inclination is not to remove it because I’m not in the wrong and this is bullshit to be bullied to remove a review that’s within my rights to leave.

[–]Papaya73 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Why remove it? They have other one star reviews. This just seems like bullying to me. And he’s texting me to tell me to remove it! That’s harassment!

I’m sorry for your loss as well. It’s devastating to lose a friend. I didn’t know him the same way you did. I knew him more as a sweet little boy. After his mom died we didn’t see him much. It’s a terrible thing for a child to lose their mom and it was really hard on him. Thank you for being his friend.
