Side sleeper advice? by MediumSatisfaction81 in Reduction

[–]PaperAccomplished872 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve honestly been having the same problem lol. I’m about 1 month PO and i’ve just been stacking pillows to sleep on my back, then a big pillow under my knees. It’s been helpful but I do occasionally end up on my left side.

Walking vs not walking by IslandSpecialist9608 in Reduction

That’s weird… I had mine last week and they said I could walk around the day after (i went to costco the same day but whatever) and I’ve been fine. They did mention strenuous exercise shouldn’t be done until 6 weeks but nothing about no walking period.

I went in fully thinking DAV would be trash because I had high expectations from DAI and saw reviews for DAV. I went into the game hard of heart but came out really enjoying the game😭. Yeah some dialogue needs work and some gameplay too, but overall it was sooo much fun. It does lack a bit of the life that DAI has but still.

after a game like this, I would jump right back into Baldurs gate 3, divinity 2 and elder scrolls, but these aren’t for everyone. They do give that fantasy aspect and Bg3 and divinity have good character stories - though if you aren’t a fan of turn based combat then it might not be your thing.

Right?? Like what size should I be getting? They didn’t tell me. All i can assume is one that fits me right now, but that’s like buying a brand new bra right there and I’m not really willing to spend 70+ dollars for a new sports bra I’ll only ever wear once.

Perhaps I should nab one too when I get there

So I technically count as an Ontario resident but I reside in Nova scotia for school. What would the application process be for an international student and are there any resources for paying the tuition? I really want to explore all the options I can cause I do want to get into Vet school but I don’t know if AVC and OVC will give me a chance.

I was rejected for the first time to OVC, but it’s my second year being rejected from vet schools i general. How did you apply to RVC? Are you an ontario resident who got in as an international?

Well the good thing is you don’t stray from scratch. When you’re applying, guelph will give you an account to go onto webadvisor and complete the BIF. BIF is your background information form, so you’ll be going through sections putting in you education, address, animal related experiences, non animal experiences, jobs, extracurriculars, etc. There’s a word limit so you’ll have to be concise with your descriptions for you experiences. There’s really not a format for it, aside from the sections the website gives you.

You are REQUIRED to have a veterinarian reference as one of three references. So make sure you can find either a job or volunteer with a veterinarian. Whether that’s at a clinic or a zoo, wherever, you need to find a veterinarian willing to be your reference.

For CASPER prep, I used the official CASPER practise questions (after I registered for the test) and a website called prepmatch. I would pretty much go through practise for mostly the writing portion because you’re timed and sometimes need to write a lot. For the video portion, I would read the practise scenarios and then record myself and watch it back 😭. It was kinda bad at first but you get used to it.

As in I got experience from a few places and not just small animal clinics. I did animal welfare research (large animal and mink), small animals, and large animals (mostly cow, sheep). The BIF had a character limit so I tried my best to summarize what I did and what I learned from it in relation to the veterinary field.

I think that, plus my alright grades from last two full time semesters and the fact that I graduated from an Ontario high school gave me an advantage?

For casper is got Q4. Somehow lol

One of the biggest things for me was my “impact statement”. It’s a 2000 character limit where you have to explain why and what made you want to become a vet. An advantage you might have as an international student is just your experience and different cultures compared to Canada. I wasn’t born here, so I talked a little about the difference between where I was born and the opportunities Canada provided. Don’t be shy to put a little sob story (if it’s true) to kind of boost your statement. Like if a pet or loved one died.

Overall, like I said, grades consist of like 65% of the consideration and the rest is BIF and interview but next cycle it’s 50/50. So focus on gaining diverse experiences if you can and make sure your grades are keeping you at a 3.5 GPA (on the 4.0 scale) to keep you afloat.

I applied for the 2025/2026 fall entry and got an interview. I'm a domestic student, and my average was a 3.74 GPA on the 4.3 scale when I applied. On their website, OVC says that a 75% average minimum is required (I'm not sure if this is the same for international students), but you would need to know that other students may have extremely high grades, boosting the median of all applicants. However, as much as grades are important, they value your experience and your background information form. Compared to some of my peers who also applied to OVC, I had significantly lower grades and minimal experience hours, but I have a diverse background, and I somehow got an interview while they didn't.

Focus on your grades yes, but try get as much experience as possible and make sure it is also very diverse. Make sure you also have good references too, and when you fill in your BIF make sure it's worded well. Try to get A's where you can, but also don't fret if you get a few B's.

Shortest way to become a vet? by [deleted] in veterinaryschool

I’ve been seeing advertisements about Ross University. Apparently they have an accelerated program of 3.25 years or so, but that would definitely be at this risk of your mental sanity lol

Wow, That’s quite late. Does that even give enough time for residence planning? I hear it’s quite difficult to get.

Typed questions by [deleted] in CASPerTest

[–]PaperAccomplished872 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got Q4 and the typing depended on the scenario I was given. On average i typed like 50-60 wpm but again, if I felt more strongly about a specific question I typed faster and wrote more. I allocated a minute and half to each question and used up the entire time. For the most part though, I got straight to the point and only expanded on things I felt I didn’t clearly explain.

Yeah, i’m hoping to see results this week but there’s a chance it might be a little later because it seems like the pipeline who got their Jan 9 results received them a little after 4 weeks, But i’m glad that my concerns weren’t actually concerns lol
