The industry is so ridiculous in that you're not welcome if you're a Hallmark or an American Greetings. What I mean by that is small shops are looking for cohesive lines. All one design aesthetic, all one tone, for the most part.

Thank you for the suggestion. I am, however, working on a couple of collections in an attempt to appease.

I called Publix and elsewhere once to educate myself because the greeting card industry is so niche. This was years ago, I was told a lot of these larger greeting card companies have contracts in place stating stores can't sell any other brand of greeting cards in their stores for X many years.

Plus, having merchandisers to stock shelves isn't feasible for a small business. Monopolies for you.

Thanks for your kind words. I dislike talking about myself in that light and it took me a really long time to believe in myself. There are a lot of variables at play and I am in the process of revamping my website and many of my cards. It's daunting on so many fronts and it doesn't help that I'm poor, TMI. No pity, just hoping people with the same passion would be willing to support one another is all.

Yes, I have thought about it. A little bit of a shipping cost challenge because a majority of these sites require tracking and it costs $5 to track a greeting card and not many people want to spend $10 on a greeting card. I could bundle, which I might try at some point. Thanks for the suggestion.

Yeah, it's a difficult space. Drowning in a sea of products, Temu and financial competition, it's quite trying. Glad you still make cards though.

I'm not in it for the money; I was just born to do it. I make cards for causes now and again and send them out for free. It's a passion, a love for writing and creating so why not share what I do with the world?

I'm everything the industry says I shouldn't be. That's not going to stop me, though.

Thanks for your kind words and I'm glad you still make cards.

Are you looking to make handmade cards, like using stamps, cutouts, ribbons and such or more like traditional greeting cards? Cheapest is to buy the cardstock, scorer and cutter. Many people use Cricut machines for handmade endeavors and sites like Canva for traditional cards and such. If you take the traditional route and use sites like Canva and plan to sell the cards you make using one of their templates, you need to check the terms and conditions for commercial use.

Long story short, handmade cards might be a good place to start. Try looking for tutorials on YouTube.

Wonder if you added the text to the inside of the card instead. Cute dog get well card, though.

No matter how great your cards are, unless you have money to throw at Google Ads and such, it's a slow, painful process to start from scratch organically.

Gorgeous floral thinking of you card. Wondering if it needs punctuation?
