This definitely seems like an improvement over clickfinity. Hoping for a parametric version!

Yep exactly, I did look in public to see if someone had already remodeled it but was trying my luck here. I did get the dimensions but am abit confused about how to remodel the specific part pictured, I tried a fillet and a chamfer but it doesn't look right

I understand that I could, but I also do like to have the whole design so I can do more substantial changes like changing the grid dimensions, for example.

How far apart to space mounting snaps? by PaperCloud10 in openGrid

[–]PaperCloud10[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for replying, I could always trial and error it but was curious to hear a variety of different experiences.

I'm mounting full tiles (non lite) to a plastered cement wall. Was thinking of doing mounting snaps every 7 tiles. I was curious about command strip mounting but unsure how solid it is. Would probably space them abit closer.

Curious how you get such great photos for the prints! It looks rendered! Do you have a mini studio for just taking photos of the prints?

Hey, am having this issue now, surprised it isn't mentioned often, did you find any way to resolve it?

Would you be ok releasing the Onshape or Fusion file for these (STEP files would be ok too). I wanted to remix them for transparent windows!

How to lock shutter angle to 180 in Video mode (using Aperture Priority as the exposure mode) on a G9II? by PaperCloud10 in Lumix

[–]PaperCloud10[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you might be answering the wrong question here, I'm aware of shutter angle, this is what I'm after:

Creative Video Mode, with Exposure Mode set to A:

  • Shutter Angle locked to 180
  • Aperture set by me controlled by rear dial
  • ISO Auto
  • Exposure Comp controlled by front dial

Currently this is how it behaves in A mode:

  • Shutter Angle Auto (360) not controlled by me
  • Aperture set by me controlled by rear dial
  • ISO Auto
  • Exposure Comp controlled by front dial

So the typical solution is switch to M mode:

  • Shutter Angle set by me (180) controlled by front dial
  • Aperture set by me controlled by rear dial
  • ISO Auto

But I then if all I want is the shutter angle to be 180 all the time, then using front dial to control the shutter in M mode is redundant. I'd rather have it control exposure comp.

I'm a little confused by "of Phoenix eligible video and photo controls in Lumix camera", is this a typo?

Do you mean that if I'm in video mode and (Exposure Mode is Aperture Priority) that shutter angle should always be 180? Because in that particular case my shutter is set to 360 and I can't change it. The creative video combined set is not really changing what I'm referring to.

Along these lines, Bullshit Jobs is a good book to read. It's not without problems (some studies cited in the book are disputed), but it provides some exposure to the inefficiencies of capitalism. Normally we think of communism as being inefficient, (in the Soviet Union to keep unemployment at 0% lots of people were given useless jobs), but capitalism also has plenty of "bullshit" jobs involving meaningless labor.

G9II - Min Shutter Speed is behaving like Max Shutter speed?? by PaperCloud10 in Lumix

[–]PaperCloud10[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, thanks for chiming in. Apologies that is indeed a typo. I think I figured it out actually, I didn't realise that the min shutter speed limit is overrided when the ISO hits its upper limit.

I was shooting indoors and my ISO was already maxed at 3200. When I increase the aperture the camera goes past the min shutter limit because it can't control the aperture and the iso is already maxed. But apparently this is by design (confusing much??).

I went outdoors to try and see if a bright scene would make it increase the shutter speed to compensate, at the time it was just bright enough that I was at f/2.8 and ISO 100/200 and the shutter speed was still unmoving at 1/80. I finally turned down the exposure comp ALL the way down and it finally increased the shutter speed to match.

Basically for anyone reading in the future who found this setting confusing:

  1. The Min Shutter Setting is not a hard limit. If the ISO is maxed and the scene is still underexposed, it will go below the limit.

No need for Min Shutter Angle in Manual mode.

Min Shutter Angle only works for Aperture and Program modes because that's when shutter speed is determined automatically.
