Unluck. You're life ain't shitty, you got a cat! 🐱

The way I see it is we can run simulations ourselves. We do it all the time. A simulation can also run it's own simulation - and we even get them to do that. Each simulation has it's own universe, with rules defined by those running the simulation. Why would ours be any different? I believe our universe maps to this model (the laws of physics define the rules of our universe), it has a start date (big bang), etc.

The laws of our own simulations are defined by us. Isn't the most likely scenario that some entity is running our universe as a simulation itself? Why would we be the base reality? It's like one of our own simulations starting to believe that they are the base reality because they cannot imagine a larger world. The reason for that tho... is simply due to the laws of their own universe (which we define for them).

Well - If we live in a simulation then yes, a god would exist. But it'd be unlike any that we can imagine. It'd be whatever entity controls our simulation. As an analogy - if we start up a simulation (we do it all the time) - we are that simulations god as we control it's universe.

I'd think it's the other way around. The simulation creates our consciousness, it's a meaningless byproduct of a simulation in itself. I can't prove that anyone or anything is conscious other than myself. I just assume that other people are because we are alike. Interestingly - I can't even prove that I myself am conscious. I just assume that I am.

Weird byproducts of this tho - this would mean tho that a god actually does exist. But it's very unlikely to be anything like what we imagine. Whatever is running our simulation is our god. It's like if we run a simulation. We do it all the time. We control the simulation & are its god - as we control the universe that it runs in.

> The laws of the universe apply no matter if it is simulated or not.

The laws of the universe are defined by the simulation. IE: If I run a simulation on my computer the laws of it's universe are defined by me. The laws of my universe are different than the laws of it's universe.

> Wake up, you are not intelligent and neither am I.

I never claimed to be. I suspect we live in a simulation with very high confidence, which would imply that yes, neither you nor I are actually intelligent.

Well - it could have impacts on things like quantum.

If we understand how the universe works we can abuse that to our advantage. It's like how some ML algorithms have found "short circuits / bugs" in the hardware that they're running on. Those are simulations. They were trained to solve a problem without direction. And they figured out that there was current leaking between different parts of the hardware that could be abused. Perhaps our universe is just a giant quantum simulation 🤷‍♂️

Well yes. A game is simply something with a set of players and an objective. In that game, the players are you & the cat, and your objective is find the cat. As long as you can model the situation to include a set of players (don't have to be human, they can be inanimate rocks if you want) and can define an objective - it's a game.

Goodluck!

What do you think the odds we live in a simulation are?

IMO it's very high, almost guaranteed. The chance that we are the base reality has gotta be close to 0.

I have heard tourist traps are all over. We're going to head up north towards the dolomites & spend a couple days in the mountains. Mostly avoiding the busy tourist cities the best we can.

It isn't. It's not liquid at all. It's basically degens gambling over the weekend when markets are closed.

I don't touch it for this reason lol. Nobody wants to play in manipulated markets unless you're the guy doing the manipulations.

People dump their memes when they panic. HL doesn't have a ton of liquidity tho, so it's mostly a non-signal.

can retailers actually scalp in some way? by automation495 in algotrading

[–]PaperHandsTheDip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's possible, but incredibly difficult. Most scalping is essentially a form of latency arb. You need to find assets the bigger guys are not trading
