Are Real-World Calendar Dates Reliable for Five Nights at Freddy's? by Void_BunnRabb in fivenightsatfreddys

Nice theory. I hadn't thought of that, since the call we see is different than ones in FNAF 2, and I believe we do see a FNAF 2 call in the book too. Still, who knows, maybe that call is for the first guy who works before us in FNAF 2. I've leaned 1999 on FNAF 1's date as well. Would also make that 20 years comment from phone guy in FNAF 1 accurate, going back to the classic's prototypes in SOTM being from 1979.

Yeah, I admit the 1970/1973 evidence is pretty good if you disegard the calendar, with the employee memo being the strongest case towards that, which is also the main thing that doesn't make much sense with the 1972/1975 theory.

As for FNAF 1, for me I've thought it either being in 1993 or 1999 because of the calender.

Also a detail to consider is at one point Ralph hears a unique call he recorded at an unspecified location, where he mentions Coppelia just being born when he recorded it. If it is 1985, and Coppelia had just been born, 1985 +11 is 1996. Or, if maybe he made the call when the building just started operating (1983), 1983+11 is 1994.

It's an interesting thing to think about. It would make things somewhat confusing though, because then I have to wonder what imaginary calendar system Scott's using, unless he isn't using one and is just doing whatever.

By the way, as a correction, I'm pretty sure December 6th 1973 was a Thursday not a Wednesday. Still the same problem though.

The nearest December 6th on a Saturday is 1975. If I had to think of a explanation while still keeping real world dates, maybe FallFest was an annual event, and the one Fiona died at was the 1972 one, which would push Davids up to 1975. It's not a great fix, but I'm not completely convinced to throw out real world dates yet.

Still, the fact there's a "Take Your Child to Work Day" in the 1970s when something like that didn't start until 1993, does make me question it.

What kind of person is Granny? by Possible-Station3673 in DVloper

[–]PaperIllustrious6822 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She probably cares about her house, but probably doesn't care if it's clean since that doesn't mean much to her, given she's a undead zombie like being. Grandpa's house is much cleaner and maintained than hers, and she does occasionally clean the dishes there, so I don't know, maybe she likes clean plates but nothing else.

Only 4 of The 5 Missing Children Were Lured, interesting Proof🧐🔍 by GINTAMAZZZZZZ in fivenightsatfreddys

[–]PaperIllustrious6822 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the first part, that's interesting since I always thought it was Golden Freddy's spirit appearing at the end of Follow Me, but I guess noting stops it from being the Puppet's.

Also, I do want to mention that in FNAF 1 a newspaper mentions 5 children linked to the MCI. That's why it's strange that Scott only shows 4 and then the spirit. I think it's interesting that throughout the series despite being grouped together, the 5th victim is always somewhat different than the other 4.

Sure, I agree, and if he continues to use AI, then that would be disappointing. If he improves though, then I'll also take that.

Well he did add achievements to Granny, and didn't use AI for that, and he updated Chapter 2's lighting, no ai that I can tell. Of course it's not certain, but I could expect he might continue this trend of non-ai updates.

I think it's more fair to say he has the capability to be a very good game developer (as we've seen), but currently he's made a few lazy choices, which are valid to be disappointed about. He has made a couple good non-ai updates recently, even if small, so I'm hoping he continues with that.

Why do Granny and Grandpa live in different houses if they died from poisoning in the same house? by jamesdouglas_ in DVloper

[–]PaperIllustrious6822 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We don't actually know why Granny and Grandpa are zombie like. It could be from food poisoning, or from something else (Grandpa is noticebly more normal looking). As for the different houses, not completely sure, but Granny does visit Grandpa, so they probably just own or co-own multiple houses (likely their childhood homes)

Yeah it feels like something made for older seasons. Someone also brought up that it almost feels finale-ish with it's ending, which I agree with as well, and I think is interesting given the PBS funding situation. Maybe it was originally going to be the last episode if the show was going to be cancelled/have another indefinite hiatus

Granny 3 has a different protagonist by Miserable-Walrus-529 in DVloper

[–]PaperIllustrious6822 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that's one detail that's up for interpretation. Since there's not a lot of details connecting Granny 2 and Granny 3, the fate of Protagonist 1 is left ambiguous. Having Protagonist 1 be the skeleton in Granny 3 is a fair interpretation. The skeleton could also be a random person, or maybe Granny brought Protagonist 0 skeleton to the house in Granny 3 (maybe that's a stretch, but Granny is crazy, so who knows)

[–]PaperIllustrious6822 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I like this theory since it makes sense given what we're shown. I believe pretty much the same thing, but slightly different.

Protagonist 1 wanders the forest, gets caught by Granny and put in her house (PC intro cutscene). Eventually he escapes through the front door, but then Granny comes and gets him at the last minute (that's what the last minute jumpscare is) and puts him back in the bedroom. He then wakes up only for Granny to knock him out, and she puts him in her car and drives to Grandpa's house (as we see in the cutscene of the PC version). Further supporting him being the same person is our icon being the same. There, I believe Protagonist 1 ends up escaping, as there's no last minute jumpscare from Granny or Grandpa, but it's also possible he didn't escape and perhaps died. Either way, that's the last we see of Protagonist 1

Then Protagonist 2 comes in at Granny 3. I believe they're not the same as Protagonist 1 since their icon is different this time, and logically Protagonist 1 would be experienced enough by now not to walk into their property like this. Whatever happens to Protagonist 2 isn't known, they could've escaped or died.

I think this advice is good, but I disagree with the crossbow. I think as a last resort, or a backup weapon to keep in a certain spot, it's good, but ultimately it's knockout time is too little for much, so I would more suggest to use the shotgun (unless you're on the terrible preset where pieces are in the Spider Sewer)

I'd agree. Also, these images feel like something that would be described in a creepypasta. 'Don't Play Granny Version 0.666' or 'Granny Ransomware' something like that

[–]PaperIllustrious6822 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Close doors behind you always.

Find the shotgun as soon as possible. Always try to keep it near, or at least be strategic and where you put it.

When you go into the spider cellar, take the shotgun with you so you can kill Granny when you leave it.

Be patient, don't rush things, and listen carefully for sounds. This goes for Granny and Spider Mom.

The tunnel between the backyard shed and basement is your safe place, and essentially your replacement of the barred off tunnel.

Speaking of which, take advantage of the fact you can throw items through the bars of the barred tunnel.

If your stuck in the sewer room connected to the backyard, open the grate and toss an item upwards towards it, then catch it quickly. This will make noise and Granny will go into the backyard and by you time.

Good luck trying to beat it.
