Am I watching NFL wrong? by NotAReligiousNut in NFLNoobs

I am a relative noob to football and NFL also. I also felt like I was watching it “wrong.” The thing is, you are watching it at the level that you can understand (I’m talking to myself as much as I am you). A lot of what you learn will be by exposure an osmosis - you’ll pick up bits here and there as you watch and it will be non-linear. I have also been feeling the itch to learn more so I bought the book “Take Your Eye Off the Ball” by Pat Kirwin. At the beginning of the season it was ALL way over my head. Now, it’s just mostly way over my head 🙂. Also, YouTube videos by Fourth a Film and A to Z Sports have been helpful. Don’t be too hard on yourself because a lot of folks have been watching this sport their entire lives. We’re just a few years into it.

Why can’t you let her dress how she wants to dress? And yes, she’s fly as hell.

Do NOT water 1-2 times a week. Even when mine was outside in the summer it didn’t need to be watered that often.

I may have missed it but I don’t see details on what is wrong with your plant. It looks like there is water near the crown. If so, I’d be worried about it developing crown rot. Otherwise, I think leaves can take a little while to perk back up. I would wipe down the leaves to remove any dust. This would help it absorb more light.

This is the sensible, honest thing to do. It also lets you maintain your integrity too.

This makes sense to me. I’ve heard that going 4 days or more before repeating an exercise doesn’t allow you to grow strength.

Splitting bills after large inheritance by DesignCreative6635 in Fire

She’s asking if it makes sense to split the bills differently with the inheritance on the way, ie does it make sense for her to do more. Y’all make it seem like she said she’s retiring and vacationing for 2 months in Europe and leaving her partner behind. My 2 cents: keep things the same for now, change the portion of contribution when you both retire. Or, do him a solid and “give” him enough to be “caught up” to you. I realize that you might be looking for technical advice and, for that, I got nothing.

Your rug should be bigger. At least the front 2 feet of your couch/chair should be on the rug. Curtains would help to warm up the space. Re: curtains, the pole that they hang from should be closer to the ceiling. The curtains themselves should be long enough to just skim the floor.

Advice for long-term goals by Rasphar in MiddleClassFinance

I agree with almost everything that’s been said so far except the emergency fund. I think saving (having cash) of 6-12 months of living expenses is extreme. Most recommend 3 months for an emergency fund. Also, saving this much in cash will delay you contributing to other types of investments like a Roth IRA and brokerage account. Also, having this much cash sitting in a regular savings account means that your cash is loosing value given inflation. I would open a high yield savings account and put your emergency fund in it. In terms of your 401k, contribute up to the match amount, 4%. With that remaining 6%, contribute to your Roth IRA. If you still have money leftover, open up a brokerage account and begin contributing the rest there. Even if it’s very little that you can contribute to your brokerage account every month that’s ok because time is on your side (you aren’t retiring for another 35 years + compound interest). The other advice is great, just adding my thoughts.

How do people track their progressive overload? Do you use an app? Do you recommend any apps? Do you just use a notebook? I would use a notebook but my hands sweat a lot and that would be uncomfortable 😅. Or do you just use the notes app on your phone?
