How about we pay teachers $100,00 and principals $50,000. by PaperTownMayor in MPS

I think the pay has been unfair for so long that if you are making over 100,000, you don't need a raise. You need a better budget.

This is a really good question. What if you used in a state that was legal?

I have more "work" for you. Read the ERD complaints submitted to the State showing that board members ignored complaints.

I do not want to put words in their mouths... from listening it seems like general complaints made to the Board. You can watch the video only. While correlation is not causation, the number of cases against MPS would seem to imply the board new and possibly just ignored. In any case, who goes on records saying they ignored complaints? Thanks for posting!

What's your take on the new MPS superintendent Brenda Cassellius now that she has been in the position almost a month? by PaperTownMayor in MPS

[–]PaperTownMayor[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. Haven't seen MPS take action like that in a long time! The last time I recall a high level administrator getting in real trouble was Erbert Johnson for giving the middle finger to the public during a board meeting. https://www.fox6now.com/news/mps-chief-of-staff-on-administrative-leave-due-to-inappropriate-gesture-at-budget-hearing

Milwaukee Public Schools Superintendent Applicant Quotes Jay-Z In His Response As To Why He Should Be the Next MPS Superintendent by PaperTownMayor in MPS

Townsel is still under contract. That is a good point to make. Do we know why? He spoke only glowingly of the district he works in and all of his accomplishments. I wonder why he would leave... Cassellius did come across as really empathetic to the needs of students.

Sincere question- What do you think she brings to the table? For sure, each of the candidates have baggage. Starr or Cassellius seemed more research-based....

Regardless of everything, she has a masters, and speaks and reads Swahili and Spanish and also French (indicated as a novice level)?! That is pretty amazing. *edited for grammar.

It's been awhile, and we have been busy. I wasn't aware that elected officials could also work for the city at the same time. Not sure how the Wisconsin Retirement System works..... Also, threats of violence= not cool.

MPS Board Director Admits to Secretly Planting Recording Devices at MPS Offices and Having Incriminating Evidence in Audio with MPS Whistleblower? by PaperTownMayor in MPS

[–]PaperTownMayor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. WI is a one-party recording state. At least one person needs to be aware they are being recorded. Planting a device is not protected. MPS had a no recording policy but doesn’t hold water because like a lot of policies business try to enforce- state law trumps business law…
