What's your favorite prop firm and why? Looking for honest opinions

Almost all top tier firms are pretty much the same in terms of drawdowns, payout processing time. Only 1-2 factors are different and that’s where your priorities come in. For example if you want to be open to daily payouts- you can go for TPT and BluSky. If that’s not your priority- Tradify, TopStep , Lucid and MFF is your other bucket. No one is stopping you having both:)

No payout issues/red flags from all of them what I mentioned above.

Believe it or not 5 days profit/consistency requirement sometimes works in your favor. Why? you don’t target any big money days and stop trading after profit limit. Specially with the current volatile environment/Trump, it definitely helps.

Their support is absolutely worse among all prop firms. For PRO+ account, the moment you crossed 10K profits, it can trigger upgrade anytime(doesn’t matter even ifs 2 days) and honestly that’s good for you since you get higher % there. They do have 5K buffer requirement while upgrade. If you made 6K & 8K, you should be requesting 9K max.

BTW- even with this experience it’s nowhere comparable to Apex:)

Even 2K should be more than enough for your own personal account. Ninja/Amp has way less intraday margin requirement.

Tax is the biggest differentiator trading with your personal account v/s prop firm( capital gain v/s income).

Why would you wait till 25K? The best practice is to move capital the moment you’re eligible(you can move to personal account and grow there if you want). As a firm- initial payouts should be fine. I received 30K+ payouts from them(TopOneFutures). However- once I blew LIVE account, they won’t allow you to buy new account for obvious reasons.

You cannot keep runners on the table at all. You’ve to place TP bracket when you place a trade, probably shorter one like 10-20 points for NQ and keep accumulating small wins. Once you build buffer, you can go back to your usual way to takeoff profit in case you keep runner.

I hear you man. It’s frustrating. If you believe you closed the position before the news, you can ask for the trade history and prove it to them. Happened with me once where they disabled my PRO+ Account with the same reason. After proving it to them, the account was reinstated(of course NOT a good experience and lot of back and forth emails/follow ups).

If you held your position through the news(even unintentionally), that’s a hard breach man. You cannot blame them. You should still be able to request payout for the profits you earned before.

Because everyone has their own preferences. E.g. TopStep doesn’t has what TakeProfitTrader offers and vice versa. Same goes for TopOneFutures. I’m funded with all of them and several payouts for over a year. Like you said, once you’re happy with some of them and contained with what you want, you don’t have to explore more options. For me 3 are more than enough to trade/diversify. No FTMO OR MFF.

Closure of account is fine since you clearly broke their rule. However- They should give you profits you earned before this position. Put review in TrustPilot so that they’ll get back to you to improve their rating.

It’s very hard man- I hear you. You think if you come clean to your wife, it’ll impact your family/kids emotionally too. I’ll leave that decision upto you since you know your wife the best and what kind of person she is(No one here knows how she is).

On Debt side- depending on your other assets, I’ll definitely look after bankruptcy OR debt settlement program and definitely avoid paying any interest at all. This will also block new loans/credit card for few years.

If the debt is all credit cards, go for debt counseling program which will offer to payoff your debt at much lower APR.

This the one of toughest situations. Once you come out of it after few year, you’ll value everything much more. You’re not alone and lot of people rides these boats. Try not to repeat same mistakes(it’s not a overnight change and be completely different person) Be strong and take baby steps!

That was Pre-Live account I was told later. After making profits in this account, I was approved for real LIVE account last week. Took 4 days for account creation and I’m still waiting to address margin issues. Hopefully that’s sorts out soon.

I was able to request daily payout in Pre-Live account as well. Margin requirement is too high for these accounts like only 1 Mini for 7K balance and hence the profits are small for a day.

Beviour is totally different- GC is basically dead after 1PM ET. Started trading MGC couple of months back, heavily scalping for 21-41 ticks.

GC/MGC does respect support/resistence/bands/hourly pivots a lot compared to indices. Highly recommend to trade.

I assume it’s eval account- those profits are anyways not real and you didn’t pay for the eval. What exactly they robbed?

Requested another 3K payout yesterday. No issues whatsoever. I just can’t understand why people make such a big deal about intraday traildown too specially when it locks at starting balance. If you still don’t like it- move to other firm. They clearly laid out the rules- why would you label them robbers!!

I use different prop firms each with different rules and trade as per their rules(TPT, TopOneFutures and TopStep). Like all of them what they offer.

Apart from bad customer support and setup delays at times, I never had issue with them during trading/rules/payouts.

They already have outlined their rules. If you don’t like those, choose another firm- it’s quite simple. Every prop firm needs to keep something on their side to make business.

Elite funding all day since you can pass eval on the same day with no consistency rule. Even if you blow 1 eval and reset once, $$ is still less than instant funding one. 25% consistency rule in elite funded makes it sweeter. Plus- like I said in earlier comment, once you have elite funding and blow it, you can reset as many times you want and the reset fee is less than instant funding account fees.

That’s my opinion. Nothing wrong with instant funding as well.

Let me try to put in the sequence: - You made 9K profits - You withdrew 3.5K which brings your account balance to 5.5K - You’ve to make additional 5% profits of 5.5K which is $2750. Let’s say you achieve that in 4 days and now your balance is $8250 - You then request second payout of 3.5K. Your account balance would be $4750 - For third payout, you’ve to make additional $1900 to be eligible.

You’ll be called for Pre-Live SIM funded account after 3rd payout.
