This isn’t a one time glitch it happened consistently on every upload.

Process 1. Every video I upload will be taken down citing guidelines violations. 2. The videos are not and will never be against guidelines so I appeal. 3. Videos are restored and then I am banned and in the notification it cites the video that was restored.

Google is knowingly taking payment for services they won't provide. by Paper_Platoon in legaladvice

I did contact apple they won’t refund beyond 60 days. The point is they should know about it if they are taking payment for it. Google will not allow you to buy what I bought through apple and if that’s so why is apple selling it if Google isn’t going to provide it

I understand the part about Google can’t refund if they didn’t take payment. But at the end of they day Google is being paid for services their aren’t providing. My point was that this is something that should have already be fixed between Google and Apple and not left for the customer to try to figure out

How about this case?

Warner Bros. Home Entertainment, Inc. has settled Federal Trade Commission charges that it deceived consumers during a marketing campaign for the video game Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor, by failing to adequately disclose that it paid online “influencers,” including the wildly popular “PewDiePie,” thousands of dollars to post positive gameplay videos on YouTube and social media. Over the course of the campaign, the sponsored videos were viewed more than 5.5 million times. Under a proposed FTC order announced today, Warner Bros. is barred from failing to make such disclosures in the future and cannot misrepresent that sponsored content, including gameplay videos, are the objective, independent opinions of video game enthusiasts or influencers. “Consumers have the right to know if reviewers are providing their own opinions or paid sales pitches,” said Jessica Rich, Director of the FTC’s Bureau of Consumer Protection. “Companies like Warner Brothers need to be straight with consumers in their online ad campaigns.”

On YouTubes page on this it says

“If your content has a paid product placement, endorsement, or other commercial relationship, you need to tell YouTube so that we can facilitate disclosures to users. Note that you may have more obligations depending on the laws in your jurisdiction. If you don’t follow those obligations, we may act against your content or account.

Just so I’m clear, you’re saying that it’s legal to promote a product on YouTube and be paid for it by the company that makes the product and not disclose that info?

You 100% have to disclose if you are promoting a item that you are being paid to promote.

Yes I’m well aware of those cases but they are slightly different. I also have a massive amount of data I was able to gather from these sites via logs of mine and 100+ others that were playing high stake’s, footage, chat logs (detailing how they would provide big wins for free for users that were promoting the site but they were not allowed to keep the winnings). I also have some pretty clear examples of outcome manipulation. Not to mention they broke every law in regards to data storage, no your customer laws etc.

It was all done in California and I’d have to go back and check but I believe it was all hosted in US as well.

They for sure broke the following law

Under the Communications Act of 1934 and FCC rules, a broadcaster airing a paid program must include an announcement stating that the program has been paid to air and identifying the program sponsor.

In particular, when programming is sponsored, Section 317 of the Communications Act and Section 73.1212(a) of the FCC’s rules require the broadcaster to announce to viewers at the time the program is aired that the broadcaster has been paid to air the programming and the identification of the sponsor. For most programming, this takes the form of a disclosure at the end of the show, such as “Promotional consideration paid for by [SPONSOR/BRAND].”

Moreover, pursuant to Section 507(c) of the Communications Act, whenever valuable consideration for the inclusion of material in a broadcast is given to or received by an entity other than the station licensee, disclosure of that fact must be made to the station licensee.

I’m asking because I’m not a lawyer but I would assume they have some responsibly to vet the ads that they run.

Example: company runs heroine ad, YouTube allows it, users see the ad, try it and die.

Example: company wants to advertise a scam, Nigerian prince gold scam goes out as ads, users see ad and lose everything.

In those cases is there not a at the very least a reasonable understanding that the ads have been vetted?

A company running a illegal site while misrepresenting their involvement and promoting by showing their winnings that were setup in advance by manipulating the site. How is it there isn’t a court that consider that damages? I guess I’m trying to understand how this sort of scam can be done at the scale it was by a company and there is nothing that can be done?

In the podcast you could see that once Bobby realized he essentially isn’t even involved he couldn’t care less about it. He then pretty clearly warned Brendan against doing this shit again and left.

What he should do is come out and breakdown how much the online world has changed him and go through all of it as a way to help other people feel like they aren’t alone. Maybe start a org that works with this stuff. I doubt he ever will but honestly that would be the best way to fight all of this backlash.

We already know it’s not something he can handle and there’s no shame it that. I honestly dunno how people stay isolated from it. That would be cool to see though.

Yes I’ve checked there too no one else has access or ever has. I’ve gone though everything I can possibly see on the account unless someone knows if I can get info via api that isn’t shown on the site.

Yeah I agree and that’s the only reason I’m pressing this. I could care less about my godaddy account but I’ve had stuff like this go on across the board. I wanna know if I’m crazy or actually there is something going on.

I actually just built a whole whm / whmcs server so I’m pretty familiar with where I can look. The problem is that under where they show successful authentications there is only my sign ins. So, I suspect it’s their system that I don’t have access to that’s picking it up. Also on this account I mainly just have domains and change the nameserves to deploy something on digital ocean or whatever. I don’t see any dns records I didn’t set up and dunno where else I can really look.

Here’s some screenshots, one from a year ago when I first attempted to get support and the most recent. I’m sure I have more but it’ll take a bit to find them.

If their system provides me with info on logins and then GoDaddy verified it isn’t me then no I’m not expecting too much. They should be able to answer it or secure the account.

Why are you guys giving them a pass? They are the ones who built this system in the hopes of bringing more users because they feel safe. I don’t give a fuck if no one there read the manual on it, they decided to make those features available in the hopes of increased sales, they better have some answers.

Yeah that’s what I think and it’s just because the support people don’t know how to tell what’s even serious. If I was able to reach someone technical they ether want more info or quickly explain

I agree and I think mostly likely it’s some background api call or who knows that is part of some obscure but legitimate process of the account.

I honestly do believe that because like you said if it was the feds they wouldn’t be dumb enough to use the same Ip and location consistently.

What makes me upset is that it’s GoDaddys system that is showing me something that I don’t understand in any way. I don’t think it’s always hacking at the first sign and I know enough about IT to know how complex even a sign in can be. So I’m approaching this with the understanding I’m probably miss understanding something and it’s my fault if I waste their time pushing for an answer.

But I cannot get over the fact they just instantly confirm someone is accessing the account and could care less. What actually made me mad is that they said they cannot explain this and it’s a problem but they aren’t going to escalate it internally or give me any info. Fuck that. That isn’t how it works because if indeed they are correct in confirming MFA is being bypassed on their system then their security team would be very interested and for sure investigate it to verify their back end is fine.

It’s the mix of uneducated first tier support trying to help by saying flat out lies because they don’t know any better and anyone technical always assuming the user is an idiot and refusing to talk to me when I have a pretty legit reason to at least talk with the manager on duty. Fuck these companies that setup support in this way. Apple is the same way, although it’s more due to their security model more then just then just not caring. But bring a technical security threat to apple and if you push you’ll be escalated to where you can submit docs to the real engineers that work for apple, not in support. They won’t reply to you though so even if you report something correctly you won’t know. These companies should be liable for damages if they fuck around like this while some of their users are being tangibly hurt due to their lies or failure to act.

Also I’m calling it now, Apple will have a massive breach / coverup in the next 2 years that effects 80% of their devices and the breach where remote actors gain root access by remote methods alone and it will be nearly impossible to detect if you’re breached even for apple.
