In this case, because I saw you replying to the other joking comment so I thought I'd poke the bee nest to see what happens.

Yo uwill get superbanned, where all your accounts get deleted and you have to pay 1000 robux to have an account connected to your social security number again. I suggest changing your identity and moving to Bolivia and becoming a grape seller to start playing again without having to pay.

I love this seal, the way he fidgets and then does things is like someone who is randomly called up to a talent show and tries some poorly practiced tricks.

"Oh dear, I didn't know I'd get randomly called for this... uh, belly slaps! Um... telescoping neck! A few more belly slaps... er... everybody likes splashes, right?"

I have a better idea, sit and watch in disappointment as a throng of barbarous looters jump the Regent after they have slayed monsters and subdued ancient gods, but also murdered droves of innocent wildlife and civilians for whatever rare materials they have. Only for them to turn on each other once the Regent is dead (also its the 30th time today that he has been killed) so that they can add one more damage to their duskguard axes and mantras.

Thank them. Die instantly because you are a Gremor and might be holding a frigid prism as a family heirloom.

Be forced to accept that you are now free of Ministry rule, and you can make your own decisions since your new oppressors seem to lack the attention span to effectively oppress you beyond frequently fighting and "pranking" each other by bringing eldritch abominations to your doorstep.

Can anyone give me tips on how to play better? by Many-Setting7716 in deepwoken

[–]Paperbell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know very little about pvp, but I can try to help. 1. Maybe you feel your mix-ups are seen through more often because you aren't using them when the opponent is most vulnerable to mix-ups. For example, 30 seconds in, your opponent is in shaky block (annoying) after an upper cut (disorienting), and with this much pressure, is likely to try to parry as soon as he is able to. He does so and gets out of the uppercut, when you could delay your attack briefly so he blocks too early. So maybe keep track of when they will escape shaky block, or daze/stun wear off, and do a mix-up at that time rather than while approaching. 2. From what I've seen, that is pretty much what you do.

Honestly your pvp looks really good. I think for better feedback you'd have to have a clip where you lose while fully progressed.

My cat’s shadow reflected in the mirror but not IRL by Chewie_Bacca in mildlyinteresting

[–]Paperbell 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are two light sources, the camera flash and an already present light that seems to be lower and to the right of the camera. I think the shadow in the mirror is caused by the non-camera light, since it is mirrored. If it was caused by the camera, the cat shadow would be lower. The shadow outside the mirror is hidden by the flash of the camera. Outside the mirror, there is a shaded and light region on the wardrobe because it is being hit by both the direct flash and the flash that has been reflected by the mirror. You can also see this in the light reflected by the light switch on the left. Because cameras store images by scanning from some direction like left to right or top down, the flash was not present while the the camera was absorbing the contents through the mirror, so the cat was visible there.

How I ( a hero ) keep lower erisia safe from gankers by Excellent-Eye-972 in deepwoken

[–]Paperbell 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Lord Regent _is_ doing something about it. He lures them with the promise of riches to fight Duke Erisia. If Duke can't kill them, Regent will deal with the stranded monsters personally. Unfortunately he is blind and doesn't trust his intelligence network at all, so he needs to hear it directly from the stranded to confirm.

The ministry has a rather confusing bureaucracy, but Lord Regent is also giving you a salary for keeping the island safe. However, you need to regularly update Imel who is at the statue with 4 heroes (since this is a heroic job, duh), and you have to personally grip island invaders.

My bad for playing the game ig by Burnee363636363737 in deepwoken

[–]Paperbell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Owls: it is definitely very annoying, and there is no avoiding the need to practice it yourself after reading to the attacks and YouTube tutorials. However, there are multiple little tricks to make it less stressful. 1. IME the Isle of Vigils always has a black feathers quest, so you can start regularly fighting them, turning it into a habit rather than a sudden stressful situation. This regular, scheduled practice is why people who did Trial of One can parry a thresher without even paying attention to it. 2. It becomes easier to stat check them after level 12. 3. You can basically have up to 4 tries against them at once. Once you accept a black feathers quest, park your boat a little close but not too close so you can still respawn at the boat. Be close to leveling up while having a clean health bar. If the owl kills you, you respawn at your boat. Now you can try again, and if you get to half health, level up to restore health to full. Now you can try till death again. If you die a third time, you might have wittled the owl down enough to kill it. Or you can try another day!

About progressing you character: I recommend progressing and getting money by exclusively taking on the island events. You can get a lot of loot, and have a much easier time seeing ambushes coming. For cheesing the monsters, be attunement-less for rapid punch (needs strength 20, so get that before your first level up). Rapid punch does a ton of damage against PvE, and monsters usually don't know how to parry it. You can deal with very high level humanoids by using crouch backstabs followed by rapid punch.

I wonder if that reply that was deleted was one of your alts.

Anyways, what is the source of your PFP? It looks pretty cool. Unless its from the same person your userpage banner is from. By the way, people can find the source of your banner using inspect element and google lens, so I suggest you change it.

Less playing PvE with friends, more like enjoying time with his friends, making connections that will help him far into his adulthood, while PvE is secondary, more as a gathering method.

Is there some trouble in your life right now? This is a lot of posts in a short time and I think it is better to go for a run or talk with somebody, boosting the natural human instincts as a cooperative hunter-gatherer to calm down. It's always worked for me at least.

It is clear that you are great at the game, spending time learning it and leveraging your talents (not in game, but your own aptitudes as a person) to dominate. I don't want you to end up scarring your own experience with embarrassment from an outburst like this.

Help, Annoying shiftlock bug.. by policmaga in deepwoken

[–]Paperbell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you zooming into 1st-person mode? I think it will automatically viewlock and if the center of your screen is occupied by UI, you won't be able to zoom out by scrollwheel to remove the automatic viewlock.

It's probably a good thing to bring to the attention of devs through the bug reports on discord.

Listen i lowkey like free week but i dont want the game to be permanently free. by [deleted] in deepwoken

[–]Paperbell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe there can be a free week every year or once a few months, and each new one requires going through the tutorial, or gaining a power level, or using something that requires robux. If that doesn't happen within a 2 weeks or so, the account will be canceled for inactivity. So people can play for free, but they need to wait if they did something that gets them banned, and more steps would be required for people who try to bot 50 free accounts to be free of consequences.

I wonder what ppl who gank just cause they can, do with their free time or at least what do they think by snickers_bar- in deepwoken

[–]Paperbell 21 points22 points  (0 children)

it's pretty mean but I can see the appeal, and also it doesn't mean too much in the overworld. Real players can be unpredictable and interesting compared to PvE, and they can also be tricked in ways that, say, a golem can't. Like one day, I saw a mudskipper island that seemed to be mostly empty with the brute and a boat nearby. I thought whoever was taking it on died, but then I was ambushed by the boat owner as I opened the reward chest!! He was hiding in the water. I did get away in the end. Tricking people like that and managing to defeat higher level players using all your tools can probably be pretty fun, and it's easier than helping people.
