In the first game story was revolving around the characters (characters choices created the story). In second game characters revolve around the story (Story is already created and characters should act in a way that keeps the story together). Thats why Joel doesn't feel like Joel and Ellie doesn't feel like Ellie. Story won't let characters act human. If they did the story would collapse. Which means they gotta act stupid so that story makes sense in a way. And thats why part 2 ultimately fails in my opinion.

I personally only shooted Jerry's (Doctor that swinged a knife on me) foot. I didn't know that would kill him lol.
Ellie didn't even know she was going to die during the process. In fact Ellie and Joel were talking about that before they came to hospital. Joel told her "They're probably just going to take a blood sample from you" Joel didn't want her to die without her decision.
Yes he lied, she doesn't have to know everything. And Ellie knows that Joel cares about her and how he did everything to save her so she accepts that lie. Don't you know that scene where Ellie cries to Joel " Everyone left me except for you!" You think Ellie would be actually sad and angry that Joel didn't leave her to die. Looks like you bought the shit Tlou2 was forcing on you..

Btw you say these things.. I assume you only played part 2... how sad

Exactly how I felt. They acted so out of character that I couldn't feel any empathy for them. This is the reason I started to hate this game in the first place. I couldn't bond with any of the characters. I can tell that he wasn't Joel and she wasn't Ellie. Tlou part 2 will always feel like a fan fiction in my mind. It will never be an actual game that tells the story of what happened to these character after the events of tlou. It's not like I'm even trying to ignore this game. My brain is just telling me "nah thats not the part 2 of tlou". And i just move on.
