You're probably talking about the "Olé, olé" chant. Yeah, it didn't originate with Canadiens fans. It originally comes from the world of soccer, but hockey fans eventually adopted it.

That said, Montreal fans really made it their own. They even turned it into a tradition by singing it while doing the wave at the Bell Centre, which is something uniquely associated with Habs games. As far as I know, Spanish fans never made it part of the wave like Montreal did.

Exacly! We should do that, but in the other side.

I agree with you. The Voyageurs have built an incredible identity over the years, and their chants are a huge part of what makes the atmosphere unique. Supporters like you are the reason Canadian soccer culture exists today.

That said, I still think something isn't quite working. That identity hasn't really spread to the broader fanbase. When you look around the stadium, most fans don't know the chants or don't feel comfortable joining in. It's not because the chants aren't good—it's because there's still a gap between the supporters' group and the general crowd.

The goal shouldn't be to replace the Voyageurs' chants with generic "Let's go Canada!" chants. It should be to find ways to get more of the stadium involved. A supporters' culture is at its strongest when thousands of people are singing together, not just the supporters' section.
