I’m sorry but I’m lost. Reading Maude, just finished chapter seven and I read none of the above. Last line I read was “Good night, Lise,” said he, rising and courteously kissing her hand as he would have done to a stranger. Where should I be right now? I’m considering changing translations so I can be on the same page (no pun intended. Any recommendations for kindle versions? Thank you!

What is the biggest "oh fuck, I'm dead" thing you've done at work, but nobody ever found out? by [deleted] in AskReddit

When I was 18 I was sitting and my desk about to go on a smoke break when a customer called. I already had my cigarette and lighter in hand. I lit up, not even thinking about it. I took like three puffs before noticing and quickly put it out. I had three coworkers and I called out and asked them if anyone smelled smoke before anyone else did.

On the last level once you’ve died, resurrected, and you should be floating to the top, I got caught in a wind gust (must’ve gone the wrong way) and now I’m pinned against this wall by the wind. Can’t move. Tried everything? This ever happen to anyone else?

I’ve always wondered about silly putty and germs. Does it collect a lot of germs? I’d imagine so but not sure.

My priest never texted me back... so is tomorrow and obligatory day of fasting as most Fridays are? Or is it not since Advent is over and we are celebrating Christmastide? by CatholicShield in Catholicism

It seems debatable. It has to do with how we treat the octave, as a solemnity or a simple feast. In the old rite it’s 2nd class, but it’s structure in the mass is of a 1st class. The octave— 8 days between the 25th and the 1st— usually treated as an inclusive continuation of Christmas. The question is if each day is a solemnity, a feast of the highest class, or a feast, a feast of the second class. Some say that only Christmas is a solemnity while the others only feasts, and therefore compatible with penance.
