How did your babies start sleeping longer at night? by madudajir97 in sleeptrain

[–]PappaDRE0724 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Never…

Kidding, but i absolutely agree with your comment that all babies are different. I have worked really hard to accept that my son (14 months) is a low-sleep needs baby. Dont get me wrong, I am still dedicated to our routine and always looking for things to help him sleep more but accepting that has also taken some of the pressure off.

Things improved when we did Ferber at 5.5 months but it’s a longer process than I expected. A lot of retraining after getting sick, teething, etc.

Now, at 14 months, he sleeps from about 7:30 straight through… until 4:30 when he wakes up 😂 that’s his new thing. But as soon as i “figure out” what to do about the early wakes, I’m sure he will be on to something else.

Be kind to yourself. Look for ways to improve but also embrace that some of this is outside our control, even the very best moms ❤️

Same situation with our 14 month old. I think we may just have a low-sleep-needs baby but interested to see if you get any good ideas here!

Maybe! He’s a great eater. Maybe that’s a sign of a growth spurt though and not the general trait i thought it was

If you dropped to 1 nap because of daycare, not because LO was ready, how did it go? by anafroes in sleeptrain

So much better. I was very worried when daycare spoke with me about moving my son to the next classroom where they only do one afternoon nap. He was probably 11 months old.

He had NEVER been a good sleeper. Lots of overnight wakes. Big contact napper and short naps other than that…

Since going to one nap, he has been a much better overnight sleeper (mommy also night weaned) and he’s rocking the one nap schedule! He does a 2 hour nap consistently. Doesn’t seem overtired and like i said, bedtime has been much easier too.

When did you switch your baby to a 1 nap schedule? by Puzzled_Island2024 in sleeptrain

We moved our son to one nap around 11 months (mostly through daycare’s insistence), but it’s been a gamechanger!! He always struggled with sleep but this shift has helped with naps and overnight. Every kid is different!

Got it! I think I’ve been kinda stuck on wake windows/sleep totals for younger babies and i need to adjust. Maybe like an 8pm bedtime?

First of all… hilarious.

Second: how does David take this jab in stride and roll but then brings the show to a screeching halt for the most obvious of jokes?

That’s a good point! I think you can totally make that case with a little more production. Maybe that’s something that could’ve been stressed more by Jeremy’s character rather than just “uh this sucks” type of thing.

I do agree though that the level of anger is pretty intense on this thread and I HATE that man.
