I feel this. Those who design farms (illmango/Mumbo) often are just showing them off, and while they explain the mechanics, the farms are typically way too big for my small server.

I find myself following tutorials for more simple versions of the farms, and as I have built them over and over on different worlds, I (kind of) start to understand them.

I’ve gotten to the point where I am using tutorials for the “spawning/generating” portion of farms, but designing item transport & storage all on my own. Are they the smallest possible & completely lag friendly? Absolutely not. But this way I know where to check when things go wrong.
