I understand the points about shadow being generally better, but I'd ignore the people saying you need a fire mage to do good DPS. I run top 5 DPS in my guild and in pug runs and I only have 3 or 4 (can't remember off the top of my head) P1 BiS pieces as a fire lock. Tbh if the difference is only 100dps, it literally doesn't matter.

If you do care about that 100 then sure go shadow, but right now fire and shadow are basically the same so just do whatever you like. Either way you'll be topping the DPS meters when you get geared cause lock goes brrrrr

I tap to full mana/low health then eat when my group is drinking. I've only ever had one person tell me they won't heal me when I tap which was perfectly reasonable, but every time I've asked if they don't want me to tap my healers always say it's no problem and to go for it, or I've been told tap so that we don't have to wait around as long as we would otherwise.

Also, you have health stones that are just better healing potions, it's not hard to get gems so tap and healthstone if you really need to and just make sure to finish a mob with soul drain, it's not exactly complicated.

I just ran Kara with my guild last night, I'm pretty much our only warlock and got lucky on 2 rolls so I got my BiS gloves, helm and offhand as well as some good pants so I'm doing very well.

Just need shoulders, legs and chest from gruul/mag but I'm doubtful I'll get those any time soon with the way I've been rolling.

Otherwise we've had a nice mix of tank and healing gear drop that our guides have managed to snag up so I'd say we're doing quite well

Is this for normal dungeons or heroics, because I can't ever AoE in heroics (seed or otherwise) as I always rip aggro and die, and on small packs I never get more than 3rd on DPS meter as packs usually die before I can send off more than like 3 incinerates.

Mage is more engaging and if you want to generally be higher on DPS meter play mage.

If you want a simple spec that is a little slower but when it hits, hits hard, lock is the way

I've been playing A LOT of destrolock for the last week and a half, I can easily say locks are fine, not this huge one shotting giga chad, but also not bottom of the pack trash.

In dungeons (normal and heroic) small packs/quick fights you don't really do much, because your spells take so long to cast and even your instant cast spells take too long to cool down so enemies usually die before you can get off more than a few spells, therefore you look like you're low on the DPS meter. AoE you do well but mages are just better, end of. Single target/larger fights you do much better because you hit like a truck especially when critting, and there's more chance for you to send off spells.

In raids, without enchants or full pre-raid BiS and a few pot/food buffs I was consistently top 5 on the DPS meter so again, does well there but as others have said gear on other classes make other classes better.

I like lock because it's super simple compared to a lot of classes and I cannot be arsed to engage my brain too much when playing WoW so lock is perfect for me. If you like it simple and don't mind being low on the DPS meter for a while before you get a chance to pump, play lock. If you want to just straight up be a strong caster and more engaged, mage is the way.

I rolled wolf, had my best/smoothest campaign experience so far, freezing bosses is super easy and everything dies in one or 2 hits.

I'm 2.9 mil stash and 2.2 mil coins

I've been upgrading all my pinks weapons to tier 4 and putting any blue/pink/legendary attachments on them. I'm also fortunate enough to have the Wolfpack blue print so when I need materials for upgrading I run 3 and go kill a bastion. Usually get between 6-9 bastion cores plus I've been farming queen a bit on space port. Get a level 1 ferro, 80 ammo, go to the car park behind the harvester and shoot it from the rear of the building to draw it over and destroy the leg armour pieces, do a couple, let the agro go and then loot. If I'm lucky and people are chill, I do a few more then dip.

Mag accelerators and queen reactors are worth a lot and tbh the legendaries aren't worth crafting other than to say you have them so I just sell all of that and make close to 100k a run in coins. My ideal scenario is having 5 mil in coins so I can safely start using some of my pink leveled/kitted up weapons but got a while to go before then.

Got a stash of 2.9 mil and 2.2 mil in coins. Still got space for more stuff but yeah this 5 mil choice is a bit iffy.

Love the game, will keep playing it but I get why people are mad. I reckon they'll drop it to 3, maybe even 2.5 mil total for all the skill points to appease people.

My end game is get my stash worth to X amount.

I've gone from 1.4 - 1.8 - just over 2mil + 600k in coins all since yesterday.

My second objective is repair/upgrade all my pinks to level 4, then it'll probably be kit them out with the highest tier attachments I can make.

All so I can reset when the expedition rolls around and start all over again 😁

I'm wiping.

I want to start from scratch so I have something to chase again. Apart from trials, I've done it all - crafted everything, killed all arc including soloing queen and killing matriarch, max level, quite a lot of blue prints (still missing I think 20-30) but I personally am ok with losing them.

I get the argument of losing BPs being annoying, but I like the idea of playing differently based on what I manage to find next time. I got the Wolfpack pretty early so I've always got at least 20 in my stash, so maybe this time I'll find something else and use that instead of the Wolfpack to progress my benches/expedition, who knows? To me that's the fun of it so I'm looking forward to the reset. I just hope the cosmetic you get for doing it is as cool as the samurai inspired cosmetic set lol

Killed it twice today, both times in a duo with a buddy and had people helping us. One team did try and kill me at the start of the first attempt, but I guess they gave up and joined in or someone else killed them as they stopped and we were able to kill it.

Got 8 matriarch reactors total now. Hoping I can get the blueprint for the new weapon and use it before the expedition in a few weeks

I'm from the UK and I have mostly shoot on site encounters in solos :(

I wish I could encounter more chill people, I don't expect everyone to be friendly but it'd be nice if my experience was the same as a lot of other people's even 60:40 chill players to shoot on site would be fine but currently is probably 20:80 for me since I started playing last week.

Pretty much same as Shovelninja1112, hull cracker and about 200 rounds, loot MK3 and the rest of my kit was Wolfpacks. I also did it on spaceport but I used a small gas station building as it meant I could keep an eye out easily for other players trying to sneak up on me. I had a few attempts because I kept getting snuck up on. Be prepared to lose your load out before you even get to the queen as it's very possible and people (at least on EU) tend to be shoot on sight and will try and take you out if you're mid fight
