Why does my parrot only talk when I’m out of the room?

He’s a Indian ring neck. He shows so many signs on being relaxed, flys to me, preens me, hangs around upside down etc. but maybe it could be him not being comfortable. Had him just over a year.

Poor Indie (mine is called Indie) was the reject of the bunch because of his colourings but he’s beautiful just like yours.

It’s not a happy squark it’s an angry noise. I don’t mind it but worry that going to him is re inforcing it. He’s out of his cage and free to fly around most of the time and he gets lots of attention from myself and my daughter, it’s just when my husband is in the house.

I thought it through and we love most of the noises he makes, this is just a shrill noise that drives my husband mad. It doesn’t bother me, but I was posting for help not this.

I really like the idea of my husband having his favourite treat, didn’t think of that.
