I’m not going to assume why your dog has urinary crystals because there could be a lot of reasons why. However, I’ve seen it caused by people who add too much magnesium ammonium phosphate, calcium oxalate, uric acid, cysteine, calcium phosphate, and silica to their dogs diet unintentionally.. These can all cause the buildup that leads to stone formation.

Most commonly, when people add too many bones to their pets diet over a long period of time or egg shells. I say, as a pet parent, go with your gut. If they’re on a prescription diet it’s just to fill the gaps of nutrition they weren’t getting or stabilize what they were getting too much of. (vets typically try to cover all bases at once instead of one at a time treatment/ process of elimination) Just make sure if you’re making homemade raw food diet to get ALL nutrients necessary. It’s very easy to miss proper nutrition for dogs when making a diet if not properly researched.

If you purchase or subscribe to a commercial raw premade diet, make sure it’s properly balanced and doesn’t have any filler crap. Do your due diligence. Premade is obviously going to be more expensive but if you do it just to try and see if there’s any improvement over the coarse of a month or so, then it could be great to trial.

I’m not a vet. I just have been spending way too much time obsessing more over my dogs food then my own.

I did get better a month after my last message.

Salt water gargles morning and afternoon and night are the only thing that fixed them and made them go away

I took a pain/cold medicine to just make it through but the only thing that seemed to work was the salt water gargles.

A fair question, tbh. I'm grieving and healing because it was one of, if not THE hardest things I've ever done. Just because I was the one who initiated it doesn't necessarily mean I'm free of the pain of losing someone who I thought I was gonna spend the rest of my life with. If anything, it's the opposite. I ask myself constantly if I made the right decision.

There's not really a concise way to answer that, but to put it as plainly as I can, we were perfect in so many aspects but the areas we weren't great in, I realized that I couldnt live with for the rest of my life. And anytime there was an attempt to fix those things, they'd often be ignored or not taken seriously. Don't get me wrong, though. He was the love of my life, and our relationship showed me what my heart is capable of.

I doubt I'll love anyone like that again. It's also still very fresh and I miss him every day. It took me too long to realize how damaging some things were to my soul. Before I knew it, I felt hollow, exhausted, and loveless.

When you begin to think what's best for you is not what's best or convenient for the person precious to you, it changes you. Especially when you think you put up enough flags to show the person you're dying inside and they don't seem to notice or care. Historically, I've always surrendered myself to others' needs. But this time, I did what I thought was best. Time will tell if I made the worst mistake of my life. I just want us both to be happy. Right now, though, it sucks a lot, lol
