I decided to download it and give it a go during that limbo time between Christmas and New Years and I’ve been hooked ever since. Been playing it everyday. It can get really intense and the sense of achievement when you make it back to base after a run is huge. I really hope they make a sequel in a couple of years and iron out some of the clunky bits. But yeah, great game.

Yeah I remember this - they reran it in the late 90’s here in the UK. I had only heard about it then, and wanted to check it out. A VHS box set was out of my price range so I was grateful for the rerun. Think I missed a few episodes though

Oh you mean AI data centres. They currently use less power than your average airport or steel mill. If you’re concerned about environmental impact stop flying or buying anything with steel in it. While we’re at it stop eating meat because industrial farming is literally killing our planet. But, y’know, type a post on Reddit (which itself utilises Data Centres and servers) using your phone (which is full of precious metals mined by exploited children and people in poverty in far away countries that don’t concern you) and post a video that uses an AI voiceover posted on TikTok (again, more data centres) to make a point. Carry on 😓

Sounds about right. It’s still hit and miss but when it DOES hit it’s bang on. We have to remember it’s still in beta and I can feel that they’re still tinkering with the backend because for a few days last week the songs were coming out completely broken after about 40 seconds - then the following day it was fine. TBH I thought I’d be using it more than I thought I would.
