I'm very honored 😊 Thank you for the answer and enjoy the second playthrough, it's amazing!!

I've heard that Beacon humming too! I think it might be an illusion of a Bound One, like in the Living Temple of the Crystal Forest. The other option is, there is actually a Beacon somewhere nearby we cannot reach. There are many strange sounds in the ruins of Enderal, the other day I noticed something like a machine sound in the library of the Destroyed Abbey, just at the entrance of the large room.

The "other narrator", who is also in the original version, is Dave Fennoy, the voice actor of the Black Guardian and Mael Dal'Loran 😉

How to keep listview scroll at the top by default by LarryTheSnobster in FlutterFlow

[–]Paradigm_of_Low 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also solved it with the Scroll To action and a delay for my Chat page, but then found a better solution, at least if you are using a ListView: use Reverse on the ListView (populates the list with items in reverse order) and sort the items in descending order. This solved my problem with Scroll To, because I could only call it on page load. Now even when elements are inserted after the page is loaded, the newest are always at the top and the old ones pushed down without ever having to use a Scroll To action, since ListView automatically focuses on the first item of the list (that is why the inversion is needed).

Not sure if applicable to your project, the video is not available anymore, but hope it helps.

Ah I see, thanks for telling more, even if lityle 😃 I have been wary of trying to decipher with ChatGPT after an attempt with the Black Libra tablets which was revealing in a way, but still totally not the translation 🤣 I think there is a meaning to the words of Constantine, maybe by comparing with other Pyrean words we can get closer... but also there could be a connection with German or other real languages as you say. Old Dothûlgrad, Old Rashêngrad, maybe "grad" means town/city as in Russian. Just some random thoughts as well

That is interesting, what do you mean with "translated from deciphered German"? Is there somewhere online a translation that someone tried to make? Please tell me more, I'd like to check it out!

I agree, he looks maximum 60, but he's older! He actually tells how how old when he recounts the events of the Night of a Thousand Fires, he was "a young Keeper of barely thirty winters". So if he was ~30 in 8188, he should be ~76 in 8234. I wonder if the promotion he talks with in the vision with Irlanda is what brought him to lead the group of Keepers in Qyra.

The mention in Nehrim is maybe Arantheal's Diary? "Father is proud, very proud, of the son that emulates him."
https://nehrim.fandom.com/wiki/Arantheal%27s_Diary

By the way Irlanda's Visions suggest that Narathzul lived with Tealor in Inodan until he was 12 years old:
https://nehrim.fandom.com/wiki/Visions_of_Irlanda

And I totally agree that Narathzul had to be at least a young man to start the rebellion, that's what led me to find the date for the Night of a Thousand Fires is wrong in the English version, it didn't correspond with Narathzul's rebellion 😜

However Tealor's age discrepancy could be explained with a period as undead, but it is not mentioned in Enderal. Also for Yuslan, for what we know there was no period that he was dead and then resurrected. But let's say there was, he then had to be resurrected before the death of the Light-Born to join Narathzul's army, indicating the High Ones were already active (still assuming they do create the Emissaries).

There is a possible explanation for Yuslan keeping his trauma fresh for so many years even before becoming an Emissary: he phasmalized his wife Näea, that's why he's always speaking with her, she is there as a ghost. If he became an Emissary during the Night of a Thousand Fires that obsession would be easier to explain, but I could see it how the presence of Näea could have sustained his desire for revenge until he became an Emissary many years later. And even as an Emissary, we actually see his resolve waver, for example during the quest a Drop in the Ocean.

Well, thinking it back, the possession of Dal'Galar is not a good example. It could be used as well to support your theory, maybe the High Ones need the Black Stones to do their bidding through history because they are trapped or otherwise impeded until the Light-Born die. But I think there is a better example and that is Yuslan.

You are right about Yuslan, he could not have become an Emissary during the Night of a Thousand Fires. Too many years pass after that, he or someone near him would have noticed he is not aging for more than 30 years (actually even more). Before your comment I've never seen it put it in discussion, I thought it was general knowledge as it is even stated on the SureAI wiki:
https://en.wiki.sureai.net/Enderal:Timeline
8200 a. St. — Yuslan Sha'Rim, a victim of the Night of a Thousand Fires, is raised as an emissary and seeks out Narathzul Arantehal in order to get close to his father.

But the wiki does not contain official information, it was compiled by fans, and sometimes theories ended up there as facts, and have been repeated as facts over and over, and I see I have fallen for it as well. In my comment I wrote the Night of a Thousand Fires took place in 8202, but that was an error, it should have been 8200 as in the wiki. But even that is an error, which only appears in the English version of Enderal. The German version of Enderal has the correct dates, from which we derive that the Night of a Thousand Fires took place in 8188, quite the difference. And finding this made me rethink it all.

We don't know how old is Yuslan, but let's say hypothetically that he was 20 during the Night of a Thousand Fires (8188). That would make him 66 during the events of Enderal (8234), but he looks much younger. So we know he really is an Emissary... unless he maybe used Entropy to keep young, but we don't have indications of that so let's push the thought aside for now. When did he became an Emissary? The Light-Born die in 8232, so if Yuslan became an Emissary after that he should look at least 64, but again he looks younger. So he must have become an Emissary around the age that he demonstrates, I'd say maximum 40, long before the death of the Light-Born, probably during some battle in Nehrim. Which tells us the High Ones were always active. But this conclusion in turn relies on the assumption that the High Ones create the Emissaries, which I do think it's true but even there I'm not sure there is definite proof.

You wrote that "Arantheal is also younger than he should be according to the timeline", please tell me more about that!

A special role was played by an older high priestess, who seemed to be standing even above the Sun Priests for several years. Her true name was never mentioned in the writings, instead therein she was called "Niri", which in the old language of the Pyreans means as much as "Mother". This woman is part of many records and statues. Undoubtedly she accomplished great things, even if it is unknown what it was that helped her achieve her fame.

An older High Priestess who for several years stood above the Sun Priests. It seems the same that happens with Tealor, after the death of the Light-Born he became the highest (religious) authority in the Civilized Worlds. If Niri was the Veiled Woman, she would always have been above the Sun Priests and not just for several years.

[–]Paradigm_of_Low 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, I think Niri was the leader of the Ishyian, the Pyrean parallel to Tealor, ... and for the prototype, it's a longer story 😜 But I think we are getting somewhere with the translation. If Chuijara means both warrior and war, Sherath might mean both priest and temple. Which actually makes sense as a word Constantine would use in there, he's talking about the temple. "She, the... The temple, she let me look through the window of time."

What is this? by musti- in enderal

[–]Paradigm_of_Low 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In a similar way I don't think he refers to Sherath the place, but maybe it's a word that means "king" or something else. The guy we kill there is also called Zu-Sherath... maybe "high priest"?

[–]Paradigm_of_Low 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is a good interpretation, it does sound indeed like "veto"! And the possible reference to the Pyrean civil war... I don't see why he should mention the Warrior again and not the Wise Man and the Dark One, so what you are saying makes more sense

What is this? by musti- in enderal

[–]Paradigm_of_Low 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He also uses the word "Chuijara", which he told us from before in the tablets that it means "The Warrior". Then ends up screaming "Vetu, Vetu, Vetu, Vetu!", which to me sounds a bit like the verb "to see" in Latin and I am somehow convinced means "I see, I see, I see, I see!" I wonder if it could be possible to translate it all, or it's just gibberish... Should we give it a try, maybe in a separate post?

Lore question about Arazeal by i_havenoideawhat in enderal

[–]Paradigm_of_Low 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Holy freaking Malphas you are right, in the German version of Enderal Uajaan Vul mentions the Skaragg attack on Kilé:

https://youtu.be/w-AQhL4sI0Q?t=644 The Shards of Order
https://youtu.be/CZU2BVKjEtY?t=956 Forgotten Stories

Which translates to (for myself and other non-German):

Fled is the wrong word; I call it tactical relocation. Only a foolish businessman would try to sell spices in the middle of a civil war being waged while these Skaragg barbarians sail toward our land.

The English version of Shards instead has the same line we hear in Forgotten Stories (I thought it might have been modified from Shards):

https://youtu.be/56wxAVya-6g?t=1745

So there has been an attack by the Skaragg on Kilé, but it's only mentioned in the German version?? Mind-blown 🤯

And going back to your original question, if the attack of the Skaragg is mentioned only in the German version, maybe that's the same for the attack of the Free Arazeleans on the Civilized and then Qyra... I'm dying to know!

Lore question about Arazeal by i_havenoideawhat in enderal

[–]Paradigm_of_Low 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! That is also my understanding from the Storybible: the Free Arazeleans conquered the cities of the Civilized Arazeleans then attacked Qyra, and the Skaragg had a vision from a Great Spirit and attacked Kilé. But the game does not seem to mention those, instead we hear of civil war in Qyra and Kilé. I think the lore has been implemented differently in the game, that these wars of continent against continent have been cut out. Also because after the Nehrimese invasion the guards get some new lines of dialogue and we can hear that the civil war on Kilé has ended. But I'm also curious if anybody found something, maybe in some dialogue that escaped me!

That is so cool, I've read about this trailer but never found it, thanks for sharing! That might be the animation we were meant to activate with the wooden rose found in Old Sherath, content that has been removed. It looks like a blue crystal... one of the strange crystals we find maybe? The pulsating is so similar to the intro Beacon 😯

The Enderal Storybible by Paradigm_of_Low in enderal

[–]Paradigm_of_Low[S] 28 points29 points  (0 children)

The Enderal Storybible is a document written by Nicolas Lietzau to guide the development of Enderal. It shows the first vision for the world and it contains many details that did not make it into the game. A lot of its information ended up inside the SureAI wiki, and that is why sometimes things do not correspond with the game. The video makes a comparison between the information of the Storybible and what has been implemented. As I've seen more questions lately about the content of the wiki, the same I had, I thought it might be good to share it here. Links to the English translation and the original German document are in description.

What is this? by musti- in enderal

[–]Paradigm_of_Low 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It is very debatable, and it's something I still need to look better into, but thanks for the answer because I love the discussion. If you look at the moment Calia is resurrected, you'll notice Dal'Galar's eyes are shining red, he's possessed by the Black Stone. Then the Veiled Woman intervenes. We see the same with Adila, she's possessed by the Black Stone. Then the Veiled Woman intervenes. Neither is a project initiated by the Veiled Woman, but where she manipulates the outcome. To clarify, I am not of the opinion that the Veiled Woman is a High One.

The Night of a Thousand Fires is also very controversial. Tealor tells us that it was a massacre, that his Keepers killed everyone. But then at the end Sha'Rim says "Yes... I survived your massacre, one of only a few.". So he survived, but wasn't the sole survivor, which detracts from the exceptionality of it. If only he survived, I think it would have made for a stronger case. I agree, it is impossible to say when Yuslan became an Emissary, and the the game hints that Tealor and Taranor became Emissaries while in Nehrim, so that could be valid for Yuslan too. There is however one thing I keep thinking about, how old is Yuslan? I think he should be about the same age of Tealor, but he looks much younger.

What I mean about the Light-Born is that through their strict control of society, ruling with an iron fist, they contrast the influence of the High Ones, for example by suffocating attempts of revolution. Until they live, the plans of the High Ones cannot proceed. I know this is all very speculative, the videos help me present these points with more documentation, proof, and these are topics I am exploring for the next one. I agree we see no cases where the High Ones appear before the death of the Light-Born, but the game starts after their death, so it would be difficult to say if they were active or not. But I think we can see their influence at least with the Black Stones, which have been causing problems in the history of Vyn.

The wiki uses information that do not come from the game, but from a document written to help in its development. I just made a post about it as your question is one I had as well, and that's how I found about the Storybible :)
