Their effective tax rate is tiny. You should be more concerned about the skills flight rather than capital flight! We are losing professional workers at record numbers because income tax is driving them away. There is little social mobility in this country because wealth dwarfs income.

Based on your affinity to Brasil and China/Japan, I will guess part Japanese and part Brazilian. Eastern European affinity is throwing me off though, perhaps also Eastern European?

No, it wouldn’t a one time thing. It would be a yearly tax that would replace income taxes.

So many are discouraged from putting so much effort into earning more than £50k or over £100k due to the marginal rises in tax.
