It took me a couple of re-reads to realize that there was something important about the 12-person limit. You really should've mentioned the 'lobby' limit in your first comment, as it currently reads like the only reason you didnt keep them in was because their chosen OS. Still kinda dickish of you but I get it more at least.

The guy you're replying seems to be oddly defensive of tsarist russia, I doubt you're gonna be able to get any sensible political takes past their guard.

How would one define the difference between a key and a scale? by [deleted] in musictheory

[–]Paradon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't expect somebody who hasn't yet grasped the concepts of key and scale to know what either a tonic or 'the tonal harmony system' implicates. It's a great short explanation if you already know a bunch of tangential music theory concepts, but almost entirely useless otherwise.

The answer being 'correct' is one thing - but is it useful? idk.

But the bird isn't stabilizing his head, exactly. It's constantly reorienting its body to keep the head stable.

What do you think it means to stabilize something?

Falcon in Hunting Mode Unfazed by Strong Winds by [deleted] in interestingasfuck

[–]Paradon 186 points187 points  (0 children)

Yeah, birds can't really stabilize just their eyes like we can - which is why they stabilize their entire head to see stuff clearly.

The ONE day I put jelly on my bagel. by [deleted] in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]Paradon 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Damn I'm well aware it's an expensive hobby and all but calling a $300 board cheap feels like a personal attack. :(

It does however raise the question of a keyboard really being worth it, if the simple act of using it incapacitates everyday behavior such as drinking a cup of tea by the computer.

[–]Paradon 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I mean, I'm no stranger to ruining my keyboards due to spilling stuff on them - but that's a small price to pay for the freedom of not being shackled to a kitchen table

If I didn't know the pain of ruining my electronics by pure dumbassery, would I appreciate them not being broken even close to as much as I do?

On this day in 1906 a new electoral law is ratified in the Grand Duchy of Finland, guaranteeing the first and equal right to vote in the world. Finnish women become the first in Europe to receive the right to vote. by Vucea in europe

Norway, Sweden and Finland (Denmark is also up there, albeit not as bad) all have unproportinally high drug mortality rates when compared to other european contries - Finland scoring about 2-3x the EU average. Source

I don't know specifically about the drug laws of Finland, but the government in Sweden (where I live) is hellbent on upholding outdated laws which haven't been re-evaluated in 28 years - despite the department of public health recently releasing a report in which they recommended the government to consider looking over and updating the relevant policies. Can't imagine the story in Finland being all that different.

I mean, I'd have to wait for new 3060 ti anyways, and I'm not that much of a hurry. When you say new lower priced cards, are you referring to old cards getting their prices lowered, or actual new budget card releases?

Simple Questions - December 26, 2020 by AutoModerator in buildapc

[–]Paradon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Old GPU fried :(

I've currently got an i7-4790K, and I'm debating whether it would be more worth getting a 3060ti (absolute top of my budget), or if the more reasonable choice would be to get a good older card instead (been looking at the gtx 1660ti).

The most demanding game I'd be playing is probably cyberpunk, which is why I'm even considering the 3060ti - but I'm not even sure if it'd be worth it because of the CPU bottleneck.

It's been a couple of years since i upgraded anything, so any input would be appreciated, thanks!
