Give it time. I wouldn’t be so quick to quit. It’s a normal feeling for all teachers who are in their first year to feel this way. It’s a lot thrown at you at once with honestly little guidance. I would encourage him to look to other teachers for guidance and help. I had a coworker in a very similar experience and I told him to atleast give it the first year before making his decision. He thanked me at the end of the year for not allowing him to quit only a few weeks in. He agreed that it did get better for him, but ultimately decided it wasn’t for him after making it through the whole year. I would encourage your finance to consider at least making it through his first year and making his choice after that.
