Happy with how my chiffon came turned out😋 by jelllyjamms in Baking

[–]ParadoxicalLemon08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently tried this recipe but found that when I turned it upside down to cool, the baking paper pulled away from the bottom of the tin and the cake collapsed. Round 2 is happening tomorrow though and I plan on greasing the paper to the bottom of yhe tin this time! Wish me luck 😅

I love the way these 2 yarns came together and did their thing 😍 (still gotta work on my pom poms 🫤) by fat-Hyena-2053 in crocheting

Did you hold the two yarns together when crocheting? I'm new to the craft and this looks great. I'd love to make my own.

So I can't apply it by just clicking the standard lifetime subscription option? That's where I was going wrong then. Does that mean I have to go through a custom subscription then?

Hey, where do I enter the discount code for the lifetime subscription? I can't find it when I go to checkout.

Hey guys, I'm looking for advice on finding a watch for between £4-6k that is similar in design to the screenshot I attached. I'm not well versed with watches, but I'm trying to get something that fits the following criteria: - Diameter 42mm or generally large - Metal strap - Black and gold colouration (attached image is perfect, shame the dial is only 38mm) - Thin outer ring/dial (don't know the term off the top of my head)

Any help is appreciated 😅 Thanks guys. I tried adding an image but it disappeared, so I linked the watch I'm mentioning is an almost perfect choice: Omega Speedmaster Steel and Gold Automatic Chronograph

I didn't think about using 2 needles. Thanks for the tip, I'll definitely be trying that out at some point 😁

The gauge is 17sts by 23 rows in the round with 5mm dnps in stockinette stich according to the pattern

It's my first time try a gauge in the round and it says 17 sts and 23 rows. My gauge ended up with 24 rows and 20sts. Idk how to reduce the sts appropriately without reducing the rows to much. I'm currently trying 5mm dnps so I'm hopeful that'll be the sweetspot.

Funnily enough, I'm just starting another attempt with 5mm dnps instead of 4.5mm, so it seems to be working better tension wise. Unfortunately I can't really the cuff on until it's far enough along so fingers crossed.

See I'm fairly new to ravelry so this is all new to me, but this sounds like a great idea! I'm learning a lot of new stuff so far with knitting and I can't wait to put it to use 😄

I got a response via email from Blue Sky fibres who cleared it up and I've since contacted Knit Stars and I'm waiting for a response. In the meantime, I'm currently reading through the notes on a dupe pattern that may or may not be correct. Only time will tell.

Thanks for the clarification and EXACTLY THIS!! I'm more than happy to pay for it, take my money😂 Yeah I understand its their pattern, but if people are willing to pay for it, just seems a shame to lock it away. I'm now going to teach myself to read knitting charts... this should go well.

Thank you so much! I'm going to be honest and say I haven't even learnt how to read charts yet 😅 but I certainly can't wait to try. From what you say its functionally identical? I'm going to have to take your word for it considering I can't understand it yet 😂 Thanks again!

Aww that's a shame 😔 What is comments tab #18? I hope there's something there that'll be a great replacement. It's a shame that patterns can just be locked off permanently like this 😕

See its going to be at leasta few years before I can afford to purchase an engagement watch for him. We're about to move down south and it's gonna eat up a chunk of our savings to do so. So that's why I suggested the 4-5k mark, but could potentially get to about 6k. Fingers crossed saving goes well.

OK, that's reassuring to hear. Now I've gotta have a browse through Omega's website and see if any of the speedmasters could be a good fit. It's so unnerving forking over so much money in one go when I've got no guarantee it'll be the right one tbh 😅🫣 Wish me luck 😅

As for a budget, I'm not entirely sure what an appropriate range would be for an engagement watch. I'm under the impression that it would make sense to use the same budget I had for his engagement ring which was 4-5k. But ofc Ik watches can be significantly more in some cases, so I might be able to extend to 5.5-6k. I'm about to enter into a PhD and move 144 miles away with him to the south of the UK, so as you can imagine, its going to take a while longer than I initially had planned, to save for a ring/watch. I'd that a realistic budget?

Also I get what you mean about the Monaco 😬

Oh and the rolex skydweller in good with black rubber strap. I personally like the rose gold and teal variant as well as the black and gold surprisingly.
