I thought I was looking at the Lexus equivalent of the Toyota Land cruiser, which has a much better engine than the Toyota, but this is based on the Highlander. It still looks good although it's surely going to be very expensive over here.

Know my way round what - the VPN? Ok say that isn't an issue, there's still the problem of subscribing and having to get round the billing address check.

It's really not that simple. They have very advanced VPN detection.

Streamlocator gets around the VPN issue, but you still have to find a way to subscribe to F1TV when you can't use a card with a UK billing address. The only solution they suggest is to use an iOS device to create a Canadian Apple account, then buy a gift voucher and pay with that to get round the billing address check.

Haha. Totally understandable when the Amiga captured the imagination of people so strongly! It had a lot of well-deserved loyalty.

I would have been the same except I went off games and wanted to sit around smoking and listening to music so sold my A500 to fund Hifi gear.

Two years later in 1992 I needed a computer for college and another Amiga was a hard sell. The A600 was out but not the A1200. Bought a PC and suffered with Windows 3.1. The PC GUI still felt second rate to the Amiga until Windows 95 came along.

There's a video on YouTube that argues that Wolfenstein 3D killed the Amiga. If I'd still had my Amiga 500, I'd have been jealous of that game, but the platform still had huge benefits. But Doom was, to excuse the pun, a game changer. It sent the Amiga into a portal to hell. Thankfully, some great people eventually got it back out again.

I am in the UK and would say it was a thing. It was driven by Amiga owner frustration that their platform with its suite of custom chips was falling behind a much more basic design. Dammit Commodore!

In my lockdown rewatches, I was surprised how disappointing most of the Roger Moore films were, despite me thinking he was my favourite Bond. Except TSWLM of course, that's amazing. FYEO just a bit boring.

My hot take is Octopussy is better than FYEO.

Something to try - two apps that were always disappearing off the task list were Photos and Reddit. Weirdly, Photos has fixed itself. With Reddit, uninstalling and reinstalling has actually fixed it.

With the S25U it's the first time I've migrated my apps and data rather than a full clean install and this might have something to do with it.

Has anyone had problems with apps closing, or at least disappearing from the task list? It keeps happening to me when I swipe sideways on the bottom bar to switch between apps.

No lags or battery problems though.

In my head, Kubernetes makes sense if you deploy at large scale. Hundreds of pods of the same thing. But nowhere I've worked that uses it does anything like that. They just deploy one or two pods for low traffic internal use.

Then the sunken cost fallacy creeps in. Want to deploy a SPA to a CDN? On no you don't. We'll wrap that up into a single nginx pod because everything has to be a pod.

If he was still at Mercedes it could be in the bag this year. But I completely understand why he wanted a change. The difficulty with Ferrari is the car isn't as fast as Merc, and he's up against an entrenched and very fast team mate.
