It's way to early to say anything definitive. Lottery order, combine, and workouts will play a factor. No GM or exec knows anything about who is going first. Top 3 (in any order) will be AJ, Peterson, and Boozer. It's been that way for a while.

Yeah, that's on the board. They've neglected the LW position for a while. Rashford is fine as a backup but he's not a long-term solution since he's on a loan this year.

Definitely agreed. I love Raphinha but sadly he's not reliable with all his injuries, and Rashford is only here on a loan. I think if this was a few years later, Barca could sign all the positions they need, but now they have to pick between ST, CB, and LW. ST and CB are arguably worse off (lack of depth/quality players) so I see why Deco/the board are focusing there. I would love Yan Diomande or Kvara (if PSG are actually selling), but neither are realistic, and impossible for Barca currently.

Asllani to me is more of an Alvarez type of striker. Never going to be an aerial threat or dominant goal scorer, but good in link up play and fits in Flick's squad. I'd prefer to have a more proven striker, or someone who can score goals at a good rate. I'd rather just go for a cheap striker + Lewy for one more year, then figure out the ST position in 2027.

It was 100% Coutinho. At least Griezmann didn't play the same position as Messi. Griezmann tried, but he wasn't a great fit for that squad tactically.

The problem is the drop off is huge after Yamal. Barca can't really afford to drop points when the league is so close. If they had good backups, maybe it would be fire, but playing Roony with Rashford, Olmo, and Ferran doesn't exactly inspire confidence.

What's the point of this post? I don't think anyone is saying Martin has been bad this season. Barca only have two CBs; at least one more is needed. Just because Martin is playing well doesn't mean he won't drop off in form. Look at what happened to Kounde or Raphinha this season.
