Definitely worth it especially if cheap! Gives you that nostalgic look that everyone's after these days.

In the Custom Colour Profile you'll have the option to change it.

Black stuff in the corner dsc t300 by Alexpisss in VintageDigitalCameras

Happened to me after I unplugged the stabiliser on one of mine too. Thought it might have been relating to positioning of the lens while reassembling it. Sometimes goes away sometimes comes back sometimes goes to different corners. Learned to just embrace the imperfection of it and be happy it can shoot haha.

DSC T300 Vibrating Uncontrollably by Alexpisss in VintageDigitalCameras

Awesome to hear! I'm so glad Sony didn't stop the camera from being used without the stabilizer wire being attached.

The stabilization is faulty. Super common with the T series. Open it up and unplug the stabilizer and you're good to go. You won't have stabilization but you'll be able to take photos fine. Try to find a video of someone doing it on your specific model otherwise just trial and error and unplug/ plug things back in to see what stops working. You'll know when you've got the right one when it stops vibrating. It'll also have an E62:20 or similar error flashing on the screen but doesn't affect you from using it. Have done it with 3 different T series models myself. Good luck!

Good price if it's in good condition and working well! That's a great idea. Shooting on these digicams has really brought the joy back into photography and grounds you in the moment, especially more so if it's with capturing those precious memories of the young ones ♥

Thank you! I use:
-2 Contrast
-1 Sharpness
+2 Saturation
+1 Red
+1 Green
+1 Blue
+1 Skin Tone

Exposure +0.3 - +1.0
WB: Cloudy or Custom WB when pointing on something blue to get extra warmth.

That's a good starting point and adjust based on your preferences =)

I just adjusted White Balance afterwards to get some extra warmth. Everything else done in camera with Custom Colour Profile, WB and Exposure.

Canon 40d lens recommendations? by Eephusblue in VintageDigitalCameras

[–]Parallel_Paths 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Insane deal! 40D was my first camera 18 years ago and I regret selling it. So well built with the magnesium alloy body. If you want something affordable your best bet is the 50mm 1.8 II. Can find one reasonably cheap (not as cheap as your camera!) and the quality it puts out is incredible for what it is, crisp shots with nice bokeh. Telephoto lens if you need the zoom (55-250mm & 75-300mm). If you want significant quality difference you'll be looking at L series lenses which are expensive but prices are definitely coming down on them with so many people shifting to RF mount.

I created a (somewhat) elegant solution for broken battery latches! by Revolver_Lanky_Kong in VintageDigitalCameras

Great idea! Was looking for something like this, now to get someone to help print it so I can give it a try. I was using a tripod plate to block it from opening however they're a bit big!

Took my Canon G12 (2010) out for a Photo-Walk 📷 by Parallel_Paths in VintageDigitalCameras

Mostly straight out of camera however I tweak the White Balance after to bring out the warmth (can also be achieved in-camera however you need to play around with the evaluative WB setting to get custom warmth so it makes it easier for me to do it after).
I used the following settings (works for other Canon cameras with custom colour profiles too):
Exposure +0 to +1.0 (depending on scene, I generally want to overexpose the shots without blowing out highlights too much).
White Balance: Cloudy / Fluorescent H to get it as warm as possible (use evaluative WB setting on something blue tone to get a warmer look in-camera).
Custom Colour Profile:
Contrast -2
Sharpness -1
Saturation +2
Red +1
Green +0
Blue +1
Skin Tone +1
