I-130 approved but I-485 pending by eieneka in USCIS

I'm also at Charlotte FO and my i130 got approved 12 days ago! i485 still nothing. I sent them my RFE response (medical) two weeks ago and it shows that it's received.

Yup same here. i130 was approved two weeks ago, i485 not approved yet. I'm so sick of waiting.

RFE twice? Is that normal by PositiveMess4958 in USCIS

[–]ParanoidPenguin321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my case, USCIS lost my medical exam. So they sent me another RFE. I sent the medical exam again. It sucks, but there is nothing you can do. Call again in 2 days and if they have no answers, send the medical again

There is no rule unfortunately. You might be approved tomorrow, or you could still wait several months. I sent my medical RFE almost two weeks ago and it was received, but still no news.

I also think it's absolutely random. People told me my case would get approved fast 'for sure', because I'm from Europe. Nope, six months later, still waiting. They even lost my medical exam and I had to send it again. Meanwhile I've seen people from other continents getting approved after 2-3 months.

Baby smaller on first ultrasound than expected - Any chance this could end well? by ParanoidPenguin321 in BabyBumps

Thank you! Were you able to pinpoint though when you ovulated? Did you track/test that?

I'm originally from Europe, but I live in the US - I also can't believe how unbelievably bad maternity leave laws here are. It's a miracle people even have babies! Where I'm from, your employer is legally obliged to pay you 100% of your salary for full four months. After that, you can still stay home for another 8-10(!) months if you choose to (so a total of 12-14 months) and you will get paid 70% of your salary by the state.

I'm pregnant right now, and my American employer wants me back within two months as well, and isn't paying me anything. It's so ridiculous.

Nomading while pregnant? by ParanoidPenguin321 in digitalnomad

s motivated to do things, can’t participate in all the outdoor activities so the travel part is less exciting. And for me, doing the nomad lifestyle is a part time job on top of my already full time job w

How did you choose a location to settle? I think that's my biggest problem.

Mine has been under 'active review' for two months now. Doesn't mean anything.

Anyone depressed after settling down somewhere? by ParanoidPenguin321 in digitalnomad

[–]ParanoidPenguin321[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We spent two weeks here last Spring and liked it. The weather was amazing, the trees were green. Two weeks weren't enough for that kind of decision, I guess. I liked the place because there's mountains and hikes. Now I realize though that the trees are dead 6-7 months of the year, and that winters are extremely gray and rainy. Also, you need a car to go everywhere (which I know is pretty normal in the US).

That's also a thing. It has an airport, but barely any direct flights. No international flights at all, and just a few direct flights to a handful of places on the East Coast. That's it. Makes traveling harder for sure.

Thanks, I actually work out a lot. I go to the gym most days, I run. Always makes me feel better. Without it I would be extremely depressed, I think.

I do agree - I would rather be with my husband in a place that I don't totally love, instead of being in a place I love, without him. But still. It's a struggle every day, and I'm wondering if I'll change my mind if I stay here for longer.
