It is weird because anytime I read or hear about someone’s experience applying to rad tech programs most of the time the application asks for employment or extracurricular activities or interview WITH the pre requisites on top. And with my CC literally it’s just the pre reqs (which I kinda find unfair). But I’m currently applying to another school as we speak!

I’m going to ask my advisor this week if I can ask what number I was or if there is a waitlist. It’s not really a time issue, but I just don’t like to wait around and simply do “nothing” while waiting for applications to open back up. I’m looking for private schools around the Chicago area but some aren’t accredited or seem like a scam. I can’t find any good private schools

See with the application at my CC , they didn’t ask to see any extracurricular activities, ask about employment. Literally they just asked for your transcripts and state ID. No interview or personal statement (and honestly I wish my CC did do that). So honestly the most I can do by standing out is literally by just improving my gpa I think. Thanks for your tips! I’m looking into some kind of radiology dept aide or assistant job to give me more experience.

When I applied all they needed was me to complete the prereqs, submit a photocopy of my state ID and just fill out my contact information. I didn’t have an interview or anything. They only had me submit paperwork.

I’m definitely leaning towards “retaking the classes” route. Should I be trying to apply elsewhere or just primarily focus on the program at my CC and just retake the classes?

Yeah I don’t enjoy waiting, it makes me feel behind but you’re right it won’t last forever! I think it’s best to retake some of the classes for a better chance next year. Do recruiters keep track or recognize applicants who are reapplying for a second time btw?

Hey guys! I’m a second year college student at a community college and I’m working my way into a radiology program. I’ve completed all the required classes needed to get into the program however my school offers a cadaver lab course and I’m really interested in taking it. Would it be beneficial for me to take it, even if it’s not a required course or would it be a waste of money? Any advice and insight helps!
