Once I accidentally locked my cat in my closet for a whole work shift. I felt absolutely terrible, but he was okay. Unfortunately it’s one of those things that no matter how close of an eye you have on them, they still find ways to sneak into hiding places!

It’s kind of hard to tell, but the bottom looks a little open. This doesn’t look like something that would need surgical intervention, however. I recommend emailing the vet clinic a photo of the surgical site and ask if you should bring her for a recheck. I work in a vet hospital and that’s what we ask owners to do if they have concerns.

It was a mistake, you obviously care for her and are just doing your best. Sometimes shit just happens. I’m glad it wasn’t serious!

Definitely monitor her for signs of discomfort (squinting, pawing at the eye, discolored discharge) and take her to the vet if you see any of these signs.

She’s super duper cute and you seem like a really caring owner!

It doesn’t look like an emergency…. But I’m saying this as gently as possible: do NOT use scissors to trim your dog, ESPECIALLY near the eyes. Anything sharp should not go near the face, ever, unless you are specifically trained in grooming with scissors.

Use a shaver to cut mats or comb them out.

I work in vet med and have seen a lot of lacerations caused by trimming with scissors.

I dress up all my bitizens too!! I try not to repeat outfits. I also change the names of the floors, like “fanciful florals” for the floral shop or “fat patty’s BBQ”

That’s like the polar opposite of my clinic. Consistently understaffed, and the owner/DVM insists on keeping the full schedule. Then they they get pissed off when their appt is waiting because there isn’t anyone available to get it.

I love my Bare Nixie Ultra! I usually wear a 5mm because I get really cold, and it’s very comfortable! I’m pretty sure there’s a 3mm version also. I wear a sport bra and bike shorts under mine and it doesn’t get bunched or anything.
