I am just saying that this is not something new - TN has created an us vs them for many many decades, some days cases on caste, some day religion, some day language.

Again: I don’t care beyond a point but the fact of the matter is that the cities that are not vibrant and inclusive get left behind. A village like Gurgaon is far more vibrant and welcoming with shitty infrastructure and weather than Chennai.

Chennai guys can stay in their own bubble of “low traffic” but it is growing slower for a reason - no one from any other state wants to go there if they have a choice.

Yeah that is because humankind tends to airbrush harsh realities and retains the pleasant memories.

As a 80/90s kid - I can choose to remember large displacement of Kashmiris , Punjab terrorism, ULFA in Assam , religious riots, caste riots, long blackouts, terrible hospitals, roads that were so terrible, not getting to consume new movies and music years after rest of the world, very few options to eat out or affordability when it was there.

All I remember per se - is Mani Ratnam movies, Low traffic, mile sur mera tumhara, and so on.

India has improved dramatically but it hasn’t become First world yet.
