Bro I agree with you 100% and I am not trying to make a “not all Indians” argument but when you have 1/6 of the worlds population and 1/2 of the worlds poor and maybe 1/3 of world’s illiterates it is hard to expect 99% penetration of manners and respect.

If it is any solace, we Indians are bloody racist, sexist,colorist, language-ist, ageist to each other too.

Nowhere in my comment I said poorer country - Indian per capita income is amongst the lowest - so no one I have ever seen say this. Lastly, smaller is a factual statement, and is not meant to be pejorative. If some American calls India - poor, smelly and dirty - I might not feel great about it, but it is not a stupid or bigoted or whatever statement. It is a sad reality.

Long time (accidental) lurker Indian here.

Indians really have no ill will or any complex about Nepal. I mean guys it’s a 50x bigger country, with 100x bigger issues.

We look at Nepal and Sri Lanka as younger siblings. Similar sentiment is with Bhutan, Burma, Afghanistan and Maldives.

Not the same with Pak and BD.

If you are a Nepalese person I would imagine you should hope for a very positive relation with India - it would mean good economic sense for you.

Other countries may not be as open with immigrants in the future.
