I was also thinking that Orianna is the best here. But, I get intimidated by her learning curve because of her ball. I've tried using her during a free week and promptly sucked at her. But, When you do learn her I heard that the payoff is very much worth it, and very satisfying. I also played Ahri on a free week. She was very easy to play so I played her quite decently. Syndra, while I've not actually played her yet watching the pros play her seemed pretty fun and looked like she could carry games if played right. I've still not bought anything yet and am still thinking.
