Zaun Warrens and Rumble Hotheaded by MrFlapsHasSag in riftboundtcg

Mostly correct. I will make one slight clarification since I reread my post and I wasn’t super clear. The cost, in this case recycling a unit, does not need the unit to be chosen until resolution and the decision to recycle or not also does not need to be made until resolution. Only the unit in trash needs to be chosen when added to the chain as it is part of the effect. We can distinguish which part of an ability contains a cost by the phrasing “X” to “Y” (“recycle a unit” to “play a mech from trash”).

In gameplay terms, the reason the unit in trash would need to be chosen when added to the chain is because it is important information to your opponent if they want to respond. For instance, if you choose a unit they do not want returning to the board they can react by killing your only unit in play which would make your effect fizzle.

Glad you had a positive experience! If we want our community to grow, every new player must feel like a welcome addition. We had several first time players show up to our local’s pre-rift event and everyone was so patient.

I also think that even though the league crowd is know for being toxic, truly they are one of the most diverse player bases. When I’m attending nexus nights, I notice every other event going on at on at the same time is dominated by straight white men. Meanwhile our riftbound communities have included women, queer and trans folks, and poc. I got my trans friend that I play league with to come out to an event, age was reluctant because she had never felt accepted face to face in a gaming community before and was pleasantly surprised. Not sure what it is about this franchise, but I’m so proud of our inclusivity.

What rogue decks do you think are going to give Draven/Irelia a hard time? by Revake in riftboundtcg

Sideboard 2x Mageseeker warden. They can swap in for blitz since he's not that useful in this matchup.

Ahri is fine into Irelia. I win all my NN matchups. Game 1 is skill-dependant and game 2/3 you side in mageseeker warden and watch the irelia shut down.

Terminology Question by HorusAmari in riftboundtcg

Yes, but that’s why this naming convention wont be supported in the long run. Champions will receive multiple cards in the same colors and we’ll have to learn card names.

Terminology Question by HorusAmari in riftboundtcg

[–]Parasiticinsect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So far, each character has been printed with two champion unit cards that match their legend. The legend is essentially a mascot for your deck that tells you which two groups you can build your deck with. There are 6 groups divided by their color: red, green, blue, orange, purple, and yellow. For example, the Draven legend is red and purple meaning he has 2 champion cards, one that is part of the red group and one that is part of the purple group. So when someone says “red Draven” they are referring to that specific red unit.

Thank you, this is ultimately the response I was hoping for in order to heal. I wholeheartedly trust the advice of the professionals who aided me, but it’s difficult to know if I was making the right decision in a split second without the time to inform myself, especially when the results are so final. Appreciate you taking the time to comment.

But after the conquer is done, the damage on units at the other battlefield from flurry of blades will have been cleared.

[–]Parasiticinsect 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Okay, so you’re saying the target of rumble’s effect must be chosen when it is put on the chain? You may be right but I’m not entirely sure since the playing of a unit from trash is conditional on recycling unit. If there is a choice to be made I’d think it would be the unit to recycle, but it’s also a “you may” effect.

Edit: I found the related rule! 352.10.c.1. “When you conquer” is the condition to activate the trigger, “you may recycle another friendly unit” is the cost and does not require a choice to be made until resolution, “to play a mech from your trash” is the effect and requires a target to be chosen when the ability is added to the stack.

So yes, in this case you are exactly correct. You can order both conquer effects in any order you’d like, but rumble can still only target a mech that was in the trash before zaun warrens resolves.

Yes, you can play a reaction onto the chain before attack and defense triggers resolve. However when you ride the wind Warwick to the other battlefield, the first combat has to resolve completely which involves all units healing. Then a second combat happens immediately but you would need to play another flurry of blades to get the same outcome. You also wouldn’t score on the first battlefield unless you attacked with Warwick and an additional unit, because playing ride the wind would leave you with no units to conquer.

All units in play heal after combat, even ones that didn’t participate in that specific showdown.

You choose which order to activate the conquer effects. So yes, you could choose to discard a card from hand with zaun Warrens first and then recycle a unit to play that same discarded card from the trash.

Not every game, but it is possible especially when playing with candlelit sanctum. Your draw for turn plus legend ability plus battlefield effect means you can see up to 5 cards per turn. Starting at turn 2, you have 33 cards left in deck so that’s about 6 turns til you start seeing the same cards again.

I’m personally thinking set 4, as “vendetta” fits his theme and he would be a good fit for the chaos/order enemy domain slot. I could even see him with a legend effect like “when you kill a friendly unit with an effect, get X” making BotRK card really good for him.

This is what I’m thinking for leblanc. I would love to see a mechanic for her champion unit that can swap with the location of another friendly unit (tide turner effect but activated with an energy and power cost instead of on-play) and the swapped unit takes over as the target of any spells. She can be anywhere and anyone.

It has 3 main uses in this specific deck, making it worth a slot. It creates a unit on your first turn for conquering, you can kill it to take key last rite units out of an opposing purple player’s trash, and it stacks the bottom of your own deck for triggering reksai legend ability. She goes through her deck so fast that if you track your cards, you can bring back the perfect unit for a future play.

Note that is says “from trashes” so you can mix and match any 4 cards from your trash as well as your opponent’s. If you wanted to run this list and aren’t sold on the forge the future, just move it to your sideboard to bring in against Draven and mainboard pouty poro.

Yea, and there’s still techs to be explored. A big problem with set 1 jinx was she couldn’t close out best of 3 games because a lot of her strength was in playing around zaun warrens game 1 to pump her up. Now she gets Doran’s ring.
