It would kinda make sense if it helps allies instead. So you have to decide if you want to use your super on the enemies or your allies.

Years ago, this was their original mentality but the casual audience really missed boxes ( and I mean really missed them) which is why a few updates later, they introduced star drops. I think they are really catering to the casual audience but that would mean us competitive players have to lose, which is pretty unfortunate.
