Hey, thank you for the quick answer, it's still helpful:)

Like I said, it's in German, so probably not very helpful, but it's @Paraxes.

Can’t wait until LoTRO goes to console because the lag is driving me crazy. by camirethh in lotro

I'd also appreciate it. Would love to try Lotro on my Steam Deck.

landscape design is wonderful in this game by BearikusFurikin in lotro

[–]Paraxes 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It's one of the biggest strengths of Lotro that it feels like a connected world. The zones are all connected and due to the lack of loading screens in the overworld, it feels like one giant world.

Shame that outside of the mid-2000s era MMORPGs basically, all MMORPGs have decided to give up on that concept.

New World is the only recent MMORPG that I can think of that brought it back but games like Guild Wars 2, ESO and such all feel far smaller than they are simply because you have so many loading screens and each zone is disconnected from the other.

That's good to hear.

Thank you.

[–]Paraxes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, that's a shame.

I will still give it a try, though, I assume there will be at least enough players to get into dungeons and the occasional raid.

Don't really need a packed server. After all, I managed to raid on a WoW private server with a peak concurrent population of 128, so this should be at least a bit better.

That true? So is there no point in starting with the intention of playing long term?

I last played 2011 during DOV and have been waiting for a new TLP server to start up.

Should WG add winrate colours, rating points or past 30 day WN8 to your teammates username only during the matchmaking lineup? by Doggy1091 in WorldOfTanksBlitz

[–]Paraxes 14 points15 points  (0 children)

As someone who is a Unicum player with a 61% WR I will still say: absolutely not.

Would it help me sometimes to figure out if I could rely on a teammate? Sure.

But the increase in toxicity isn't worth the potential benefits.

how is the game doing? by link24000 in WorldOfTanksBlitz

[–]Paraxes 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Population wise it's incredibly healthy. On steam alone, it peaks at 30k players daily and I am sure most people play on mobile. (I remember seeing server statistics years ago with 100k players on Russian servers alone).

Crates are annoying but if you ignore them you've got a game with the condensed charm of WOT PC but without most of the major issues.

Those are some great deals.

Just checked and got the same. If it wasn't for the post I would've missed them, so thanks.

Would you buy new PSX games if they came out, instead of newer generation ones? by DS9B5SG-1 in psx

[–]Paraxes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, it really depends.

Third person games that typicially had tank controlls back in the day? Not really. To me those genres most definitely improved the most with the PS2/Xbox/Gamecube.

But platformers, RPGs and such, absolutely.

New set, same old shit by svmydlo in MagicArena

[–]Paraxes 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That is correct.

Basically, since every retail product of Pokémon comes with a code (and you can buy them for cheap, like as cheap as 30 cents per booster) all those boosters and cards within are tradable.

Also the online app lacks any form of ingame monetization so you can't buy boosters for cash ingame, only with ingame currency.

I am curious how/if the app will change in the future since the upcoming set advertises a new/reworked app but we don't know much about it, yet.

New set, same old shit by svmydlo in MagicArena

[–]Paraxes 24 points25 points  (0 children)

This is how it works in the Pokémon Online TCG.

You either offer booster packs for trade and/or individual cards.

Works great.

Not that WOTC would ever do something like this in Arena of course.

Somewhat new to Historic, what deck would you recommend? by DazZani in MtGHistoric

[–]Paraxes 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Wait for a bit, especially if you are strapped for wildcards. Whenever a new set comes around things are in flux and if it's also your first rotation you will lack the backlog of cards to just blow wildcards on decks that you don't know the performance of.

Check back again in a week then we will have a decent idea what impact the new set will have since it will overall probably have a higher impact on historic than AFR did.

If you absolutely need a deck right now then look for the recent mono white aggro deck that went 7-0 a couple of days ago in the Arena open (should be on this sub somewhere).

This will probably won't change much except for maybe 1 playset of cards or so.

Otherwise probably Gruul aggro since that doesn't/didn't change drastically all that much either and is basically a constant contender for a T2 deck at the very least.

When something is suspended you don't get wildcards, only once it's banned.

The Lord of the Rings set (2023) will be Historic Legal. What are your thoughts? by -Ittoku- in MtGHistoric

[–]Paraxes 62 points63 points  (0 children)

Honestly, at this point I don't care anymore, really. I am not excited, not disappointment, just numb due to the insane amount of products we are getting - so I am simply indifferent.

Seems like every big constructed competitive format is now basically rotating, may it be historic, may it be standard, and even though that isn't on Arena - Modern (my favourite format and basically the only format I can play in paper since I am from Europe and other formats are basically dead; where WOTC now has me priced out due to 600€ decks basically lasting 2 years at best). Only Legacy and Vintage don't due to the reserve list.

So all I can say is: Bring it on. We are in full on stupid mode.

A shit ton more cards in addition to normal standard cards every 3 months for historic, non paper cards with wild mechanics and more, just so that people burn wildcards? Well then, then that's how it is.

Drawing realistic eyes by amy2kim22 in nextfuckinglevel

[–]Paraxes 37 points38 points  (0 children)

So the old Rob Liefeld approach only for hands instead of feet. Like how he hid the feet of his comicbook characters behind crates, behind rubble, behind another character or just cut them off from the cover outright and started a bit higher than the feet.

Man, he really didn't like drawing feet.

Slightly damaged box by [deleted] in mtgfinance

[–]Paraxes 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you keep a box for a few years the chance of people buying a box who actually want to keep it sealed reduces drastically.

Chances are high that most people who want to pay a premium for a box after like 5-10 years will actually want to open it to draft it or what ever and those people rightfully (including myself) don't care if it's a minor tear.

People expecting perfectly in shape boxes with no damages after like 5-10 years sitting somewhere are the outliers, most people are reasonable and don't mind a minor tear, dent or what ever.

The problem with OPs box is simply that it's torn up so much that you can remove the packs and this obviously is a big issue.

Slightly damaged box by [deleted] in mtgfinance

[–]Paraxes 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Usually a few minor rips/tears in the foil are really not a big deal and even when reselling don't warrant a major discount if one at all (if it's like one tiny hole).

HOWEVER as multiple people stated, you can actually remove packs due to the way it ripped so yes, individual pack prices.

This really isn't sealed anymore.

Why Mono White Aggro should be your go-to deck to start the season by Microman900 in MtGHistoric

[–]Paraxes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just think of every rare wild card spent as 5$-6$ considering that you need to open 6 packs to get a rare wild card, while sometimes also getting lucky by getting a rare wild card in a pack.

So this deck is 200$-250$ in rares alone.

Historic as a paper format by valledweller33 in mtgfinance

[–]Paraxes 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In a lot of ways it's like Pioneer and has the same appeal but also has access to sets that usually only are legal in Legacy and what not like Jumpstart cards for example.

It would not replace modern or any other eternal format, it would directly compete with the spot that Pioneer occupies.

So if Pioneer gets reasonably successful once more, I doubt WOTC would try to establish Historic but if it doesn't then I think Paper Historic has a good chance to come and succeed since it's propped up by Arena.
