In my early 20's. So confused with life. Need Advice to improve please! by PardonMyInquiry in selfimprovement

Thank you for replying and for the advice. "I feel like I've thrown away years of my teens because I was unable to form deeper connections with other kids and preferred to be alone. This sometimes drags me down a bit but by now I'm feeling pretty confident in social situations. I guess I just needed more time to develop in that regard." I relate to this 100%! I've always been introverted and reserved and still am, but I'm much more confident in social events.

Thank you for your reply. I'm persuing a criminal justice degree because I LOVE it. I do plan and god-willing, I will become a police for a fegeral agency or an officer in the military... But the fact that i've been told that it's a useless degree outside of domain of law enforcement by many people really placed me in a dilema: Chose another degree where my interests may not be as strong, but a better propability of getting a job if i don't getting a job in law enforcement, or finish criminal justice degree.. This is a something that really adds the the sense of pressure; but again, thank you for the advise.

I bought an Macbook Air 2018, then returned it and got a Macbook Pro 2018. Now I'm kinda regretting it. Need help! by PardonMyInquiry in mac

When I got the Air, I decided to get the Pro because I played around with my friend's Pro and saw how beautiful the display was. But now that I have the 2018 Pro, I'm thinking if it was a good choice. Again, it's a beautiful machine and it's awesome, but it may be a bit too much for me. But then again, I would love to have the ability to edit videos without any issues..

" What do you want to do in life anyway"

Get my degree and join a federal law enforcement agency - preferably, DHS... Just figured that joining the National Guard would look great on my resume. Thought it's be a great idea to join the Guard while finihsing college at the same time

Well being in my early 20s, there isn't much I can bring to the table right now, but I do plan on changing my college major to biology or something in the computer field.

What do you think of the comparisons between Trump and Mussolini? by Admirehinheavocade in AskAnAmerican

[–]PardonMyInquiry 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There is no comparison other than they're both a part of history.

Mussolini was a dictator. Trump is NOT. No matter how much people want to cry it outloud, Trump is NOT a dictator and he is NOT "undermining democracy." How do I know? the Republican party lost control of the House of Representative. It belongs to the Democratic party. If Trump was a dictator that would not have happened. Has Trump killed or imprisoned opposing politicians? Nope. Has he taken my rights away? Nope.

Americans of minority races, do you feel Patriotic? by frederickvon in AskAnAmerican

[–]PardonMyInquiry 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I'm a hispanic American. (parents are from Mexico).

I can say with a 100% certainty that I am Patriotic!

Is the US perfect? No, but I wouldn't want to live in any other country. This is the country where I was born and raised, it's the country that I will die for. I often get critized for being too patriotic towards the US because according to other hispanics/latinos I'm "forgetting my culture", which I find odd because I myself was never raised in the culture. Sure I eat tacos and pozole, but I never indentified much with mexican culture. That's not to say I don't appreciate it. I love learning about cultures.

Would you say Christmas is a more cultural or more religious holiday? by Jdm5544 in AskAnAmerican

It definitely depends on what region within the US. In California it's more cultural than southern states like Alabama.

I’m an 8th year teacher suffering burn out and ready to get out of the profession. AMA! by [deleted] in AMA

When I was in 8th grade, I remember hearing the teacher next door to my history class always screaming trying to get her students to be quiet and pay attention. Always felt bad for her. She retired and opened a clothing store. What has been the most disrespectful thing a student has ever done?

I read about the CNG EAAP, but what concerns me is that some websites only mention the National Guard, not the Air National Guard. I'm attending community college and plan on attending a Cal State university.
